Maybe you guys can help me out.

I downloaded rawdump2.0 and frameworks.NET (or whatever it's called)

I popped mario party8 into my dvd burner and clicked start dump.

After trying for about a minute, it says something about having a faulty disc. Should I be using a regular dvd drive, and not my dvd burner.

ps: I have the burner jumper set to cable select. I don't know if that would have any effect.

Are you using the correct model drive?

I am guessing you have the wrong model.

"I popped mario party8 into my *dvd burner* and clicked start dump"

the dvd models that can read are only lg dvd-roms, unless the list grew.

It is a LG dvd-burner.

I'm not sure if I should be using the burner to read games, or just use it for burning the game.

Should I just get one of the lg drives mentioned that only read?

to my knowledge the only models at work are
LG-8164b
LG-8163b
LG-8162b
LG-8161b

due to the fact that they are gdr and wii uses gdr

so to answer ur question yes u need a dvd-rom not a dvd burner

again i am no expert so if anyone wants to clarify more by all means

Ok, so I went ahead and ordered a gdr-8164b. When I ordered it they advertised it as a LG drive. Well it came in yesterday, I opened up the box, and it seems to be a HP drive.

It does say gdr-8164b, but it also says HP.
