Over at Backuptools they have released something called PSS downsampling toolkit for the PSP. It uses a built-in PSS Plex and ReJig engine. Simply drag and drop your pss files into the window, select the dowsampling rate and click the Go! button and the tool will demux, downsample and remux all the movie files for you.

What's New

- You can now select which stream you want to add back into the downsampled pss file.
- Also using a better algorithm to determine PCM/ADPCM.

In order to work the program requires a component called "activeskin.ocx" which seems to be a commercial application (?). Maybe there is a freeware version somewhere?

For every PSS-file that should be converted the program gives this error (and nothing is converted):

Component "ACTIVESKIN.OCX" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

It doesn't work for psp! I tried renaming the files to pss format and got an error. Will have to wait until it is modified to downsample psp files

Just confirmed with the programmer it is a PS2 tool and will not work with PSP movie files.

Yep, it's written on the official website :

Please Note: This is a PLAYSTATION 2 tool, not a PSP tool as some sites have been mistakenly reporting.

So, just forget this soft :)
