Rumor: Haze for Xbox 360 cancelled, to remain a PS3 exclusive

A German website is reporting that Haze is to remain a total PS3 exclusive and will not be making an apperance on the Xbox 360 later on as first thought. It could be a bitter blow for the Xbox 360 if the game takes off as expected, but well the 360 has its own fair share of exclusive top shooters anyway.

It would cetainly make good PR for the company to have a top shooter on an exclusive deal with the PS3. They know it would get a lot of people talking about the game, so may be a good move for them.

Thats weird...I think it was joystiq had an article yesterday about Haze from Leipzig that specifically talked about the 360 version. No difference to me though its not something I would have bought.

Thier loss.. the 360 has sold way more than the PS3. It's a mediocre Shooter at best, and with such stiff competition out there (Halo 3, Blacksite, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4) it may just get lost in the mix. They are shooting themselves in the foot.

hmmm odd, b/c it's the same "new" screenshots posted on the ps3 section. It's still not decided whether this is exclusive or not and already proved that to you already straight from the ubi forums.

Well, eXp is not the most reliable source for German user, just a bunch of gamers posting their crap they heard somewhere on the site. You can expect it to be true if Gamefront or K-Videogames post it on their sites, otherwise it's a BIG rumor.

thnx. im going to say there doing what they did with assassin's creed where they brought the game to sony and awaited a deal which ofcourse means money to keep the game exclusive. If they dont respond then it will be confirmed. funny the same thing happened from the same company

First of all i don't play FPS, they make me sick, so i don't give a toss if this is on 360 or not.

Now having said that your link proves nothing, it's a lot of arse covering take a look at the words used and read what it says not what you want to read, words such as

"offically" means that as far as the company line goes this is what we are going to say, however the truth is a lot differant.

when someone says "PC and 360 versions are not confirmed at this time" they mean that they will be at some point.

Thanks for the link, having read it i agree with whackawookie, looks like they are keeping their options open, pay up Sony or it goes multi-platform.

this isnt a first time situation where zeus has put in his own opinion in what appears to be attempts at starting fights.

they are human and therefore are allowed their opinion. it is just very weird that they choose to give it each time that they post something on the main page.

Play.com still have it listed for the PS3, 360 and PC. Why would a multiformat publisher sudenly decide to go for a single format, and the weakest one at that. Stiil if it's true then it's no big deal as it was going to be a PC game for me anyway (and if need be it would have been a PS3 purchase anyway).

Smells off to me, I'm still all for official statements as opposed to rumours, until the devs/publishers say otherwise then who cares.

That works both ways, like bioshock being crap according to PS3 fanatics as it's not on their system. As for Haze, the only people I have seen bigging it up are PS3 owners, everyone else has been pretty much meh about it, even though it is multiformat.

Personally I find it a bit pathetic that people rate games based on the system it is on, that is unless it is multiformat then it is pretty fair to make a comparisson (though that is just based on how it looks, sounds, controlls etc, the game it's self would be essentially the same). If Haze is good and in the unlikley event that it is PS3 only then it should be accepted as being good, regardless. If it is average or worse then I also think that should be accepted instead of the denial that usually follows games that have been overhyped.

the ps3 will catch up one day if not pass the 360 in quality. they are both very good consoles.

I mean as in weakest selling format, with the lowest install base meaning the lowest potential profits. Going exclusive on the 360 is still probably not the best idea either considering this current gen dose not exactly have a massive install base yet. But simply put if devs have to choose one format, the 360 is the most financially rewarding at present (well for a game looking like this as it would not run on a wii without a serious downgrade). The only advantage I can see of going PS3 exclusive at present is that due to how few decent exclusives it has, more of it's install base are likley to buy it which may outnumber the ammount that buy it for the 360. However I would say the smart money is on going multiformat for now.
