Leading UK internet retailer breaks Xbox 360 Elite Street Date

Leading UK internet retailer 'Play' has sneakily broken the official Xbox 360 release date in the UK, it is scheduled for August 24th but Play are stating it is available to purchase right now shipping within 24 hours. Game online and Amazon are all sticking to the official release date it seems.

whats the shippin method they allow for it? if its 2+ days then i dont see a problemt with this since the elite would get in a persons hands on the 24th same as going to a store. all you would really be getting is the added chance to order it ahead. but then again some stores let u do that anyway.

They havent broke the street date, it takes play 2 days to get stuff to you so they are selling it to be recieved on the release day.

If you want a street date story, Argos were selling them over the counter till MS people gave them a nasty call.

With hardware play.com send from the U.K. mainland not jersey so delivery is next day normally I have found in the past.

Well play and most other sites usually post stuff before releas anyway. You usually get games a day or two before official release date.

might as well get one from game.co.uk. For another £10 you can get an Elite with Bioshock

I have pre-orderd hardware from play before and i guarantee that they will ship so you receive on release date unless you collect your post/mail from your local courier depot.

Holy sh!t! Just found that gamestop is selling XBOX 360 for $190!! That's just $60 more than a new PS2!! Plus with the warranty it's gaurenteed to work(or return it and get a new 360!)!

Its a Core and its refurbished. The core is totally pointless, no HDD and wired controllers

I just posted this for the people that are on a tight budget. You can still play it without a hard drive and a wired controller. Just get a cheap memory stick off ebay... It's a great deal for a next gen system neithor the less(Especially the kind of rig you need to play 360 games on the PC:about $1000+).

Wow! I had no idea that they were still waiting on the 2yr old XBOX 360 that got a simultaneous worldwide release!

But seriously, you're missing a word there: Add "Elite"
