Rumor: Xbox 360 SKUs getting new European names, and a new SKU

A Belgian gaming website called 'Shizzle Games' indicates that the Xbox 360 may soon be launching with new names in Europe. The Elite is expected to keep its name, while the Premium will be called the Xbox 360 pro and the core system will be renamed to Arcade. Rumors suggest the 'Arcade' will ship in a bundle with a memory card that comes pre-installed with 5 Xbox Live Arcade titles. Further to this, the respective charts shows the Pro will receive a silver finishing in order to differentiate it from the other models. The Arcade model certainly makes sense as we all know MS are desperate to get into a piece of the Wii's casual gaming market.

although its a little late to be changing names I like the "Go" and "just play" atleast this time they can get the point across that the core is just to play games not to be your home theater lol. why didnt they change the boxart for the others i HATE the circles they always anoy me. I think im a little late but are the cores coming with wireless now?

Coupled with the wealth of games coming from September onwards, looks like MS is on to a winner.

Looks like the 'Arcade' is going to come in at less then £180 and thats the perfect price point for xmas.

oh dear god how fake is the "just play" box with the blatent MS Paint job for the arcade, you can easily see this has been copy and pasted ontop. please do everyone a favour and stop reporting this false crap

EDIT: oh and you can see where hte 360s have been cut out and put onto the backs of the boxes, look at hte elite console and you can see the edges where its been cut out of antoehr picture, would pro's really leave it like that? i dont think so.

if this is true then god help us, changing the name brings in no more money and doesnt cover the fact the console has major flaws, if they want to get more sales they should release them with a badge on it saying "a lot less crap then our realease console" :rolleyes:

God help us? Why? talk about over-reacting. If anything the "pro" designation will help people looking for a new one avoid the pre heatsink/zephyr ones. I dont see what it hurts. Premium is stupid with the elite out there...its not the "premium" one anymore...and core is staying core.

As a european I serious doubt any SKU would be marketed as "arcade". The word doesn't translate well across languages.

Really tempted now, never been an xbox fan but all the problems are sorted now and Command & Conquer 3 and Bioshock are hard to resist!

Gaming as a whole is possibly at it's best at the moment - 3 consoles (PS3, Wii & 360) all offering great features with great games coming up.
