View Full Version : Xbox 360 Trusty Bell Core pack retailing for $173 in Japan
Japanese retailer Bic Camera is now pricing its Trusty Bell Xbox 360 core pack at the super low price of 19,800 YEN which converts to $173 or 129 euro's. The normal price of the respective bundle in Japan is approximately $260. So all in all, this is a very good offer and hopefully should have a decent enough impact on Xbox 360 sales in the region of Japan.

It's just biased and unfair. 360 has the most Jap RPGs yet it is losing to the PS3. Especially when the 360 is about 1/3 of the PS3 price in Japan. I don't see any reason that the 360 shouldn't sell!:mad:Just blind ignorant fanboyism.

Its nationalisim not fanboyism if a similar domestic product is available they will buy it instead...It used to be that way here in the states as well but unfortunately everyone here would rather save 50 cents buying cheap chinese crap and then ***** about jobs going overseas then spend the extra 50 cents on something made domestically.
If MS was smart they would make a deal with Bandai or Sega and come out with a different case design slap their name on the thing and tout its "360 compatability" it would sell by the truckload.

Nationalism has very little to do with the poor sales numbers of the 360 in Japan. If that were the case the ipod wouldn't be the #1 DAP in japan.
The reason has more to do with the content of software for the 360, and also library for the first xbox.
The first xbox had only a handful of games that appealed to the Japanese market, so it is only natural for many gamers in japan to expect the same for the 360.
The same is also true with the ps3, lack of content...
EDIT:
@nuke868:
The sale has nothing to do with golden week, if anything it has to do with the obon holiday.

Japan has always been the Sony's land, but in this moment the Wii, is dominating, will be difficult that the 360 increases the sales.

until you actually visit japan its hard to realise how badly the 360 is doing, go into any electronics/game store and the 360 (thats if they stock it) will be far back of the store, hidden away in a dark corner, with maybe 5 or 6 new games available, and a lot of stuff out of stock. hard to imagine but its reality.

forget common sense jinky...you have no sense
Oh and looking at that chart under Xeno's sig, i can't see how PS3 is doing bad in America b/c from what i can tell, PS3s have been sold more in America and by now PS3 has too have definitely reached at least 7 million worldwide so they need to update those charts.
