An Xbox fan site is running a rumor that the Halo movie is already in filming. Further to this, it is expected that the film will be available sometime in the Summer of 2008.

Put your theories to rest. The movie is already in production. Those Warthogs are from the movie. D.B. Weiss (Lucky Wander Boy) handled the final script with Neill Blomkamp handling directing responsibilities. There really is a reason they came out of New Zealand. Think about it. Halo ... grassy rolling hills ... Peter Jackson? All we've learned so far is that the movie is set for release the Summer of 2008 and is planned to be heavily marketed. Again, this is confirmed. So sit back an relax Halo fans. Your movie is less than a year from being in theaters.

Thats doubtful, Peter Jackson is currently working on Lovely Bones which is due for a fall 2008 release and has stated that he would not start on Halo until Lovely Bones is in the can. Still if anyone can make a successful video game to movie franchise I have utmost confidence in Peter Jackson. I just hope he is as meticulous and picky about the script as he was with the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I'd love to see him get ahold of the Final Fantasy franchise as well, forget the 100% cgi and concentrate on a good story and engrossing settings, but most of all keep the fantasy setting. Spirits Within was so heartbreaking, they completely ruined what could have been a great film by going completely sci-fi. Was anyone else completely shocked and let down when the fantasy element was basically stripped from the film by Squares own hand?

Who cares? Most likely (if you count almost all of the game to movie conversions) it'll be crap.

Obviously they do otherwise people such as you would not reply to posts such as this.

As for the movie, going on past form with Films based on games i think ill not hold out too much hope of it being all that good.

Don't be so hard on him, just because everytime anyone reads one of his posts their IQ drops, doesn't mean he's a bad guy.

But seriously, yeah Jerz, your fanboy-ism is getting worse and worse. Nothing to play on your PS3 so you have to constantly be on here to spread your crap? :) Couldn't you come up with something a little more mature for a insulting name for Halo? I mean, Gaylo? Are we back in 1996? What's next, Gaystation 3 and Pii? I would have gone with Payslow, as in you never get your money's worth. :D

That trailer they showed at E3 wasn't very good at all. Then again as long as Uwe Bole is not directing, it might turn out good...
