An EA rep has revealed that as a release date nears for a game, the company sometimes shifts its resources to get the Xbox 360 version complete first. As Microsoft's system has the largest installed base, it makes 'financial sense' to get a version of the game out on the Xbox 360 in order to try and maximize sales. The same rep also drew comparisons to last generations when the team focused on PS2 games over the original Xbox as the system had a huge installed base.

Richtel revisited the topic after hearing back from EA about the issue. A representative with the publisher told the writer that as a release date nears, the company sometimes readjusts the manpower on the projects to complete the Xbox 360 version first.

With a larger installed base for Microsoft's console, the rep said it makes financial sense to get that version of a game out first and maximize potential sales. The representative also noted that in the last generation, it made more sense for the publisher to focus on PlayStation 2 versions of games over those on the Xbox because of the platform's massive installed user base.

I think EA is turning into Sony pre-PS3 release. Everything that comes out of their mouth digs their grave deeper and deeper.

You are totally delusional...they basically state that they are shafting the ps3 the way they did the xbox last generation and you think that EA is the one who gets hurt by this? Like them or not...shitty games or not...EA is the biggest game publisher on the planet and is probably has more influence over console sales than any other third party developer. I know you like your ps3 and have these grandiose ideas that any moment now 8 million people are going to rush out to buy one...but this is not good news for Sony. Hopefully readjusting manpower doesnt translate into half ass ports and as the user base increases perhaps we will see it swing towards a more evenly divided workload but right now for ps3 owners there is nothing good to be found in this.

Ok...... so why do they all still suck?????

Smartass comments aside, the fact that both EA and Ubisoft are not too fond of the ps3 is really not a good thing for sony. While ubisoft has a few games I'm looking forward to, EA as far as I'm concerned can dedicate themselves to make mac games for the rest of their life, but I admit that just because they release such a huge amount of games, crappy in their majority I might add, they sell a lot of games, and like ape said they do influence console sales.

I agree keep all the crap substandard ea games on xbox360. I have just seen NFS:carbon for ps3 and what a load of $#it, graphics are the worse I have ever seen. If you compare the graphics on carbon with gt hd concept (free download) you can see that ea can't programme to save there lives.

With luxury comes huge consequences. Devs don't have to bust their ass off for the wii cuz people still buy Spiderman 3. Ea doesn't have to fix the glitches in madden 2008 because people still buy it! You notice some of the best company's saying that people are whiners it's not that bad it's actually a great machine. Then you have EA saying that it's too hard. Get my fuk1n drift? If not enjoy your luxury

no need for the usual conspiracy theories here, it's simply good business sense. ea - and everybody else - would be stupid to put more resources into the smaller market.

Its just business. Its why they make so much money. They re-evaluate their strategy every single year, if not more often.

I Don't Think thats the Answer, All thats Going Wrong is That, EA Are Spreading there Resources Too Thinly, in That they are Trying to Develop Games for Way Too Many Systems IE: Consoles / Portable Consoles / Computers / Mobile Phones / And Now Mac Computers, and So we Are Seeing EA are Now Shifting there Resources Over to the Easiest Platform to Program On, the XBOX360, as its been Out for Longer, and Has a Larger Fan Base At the Moment, So Does Make Alot of Sense to Me!!!!

Does This Mean That a FIFA Game Will Actually Be Good For a Change on the XBOX360, I Do Hope So............
