Well thats a completely pointless ratio comparison, their are far more xbox 360 owners than ps3 at the moment. Besides its ****, madden has and always will be a steaming pile of poo on any system. Take the silly protection off and play it like real men.

it's funny how the commercials i see on tv only display at the very end the X360 Jump In clip...no ps3 sign whatsoever so most likely it's that reason. Prepare to watch Halo 3 commercials 24/7

i never saw the commercial but usually a multiplat game gets treatment per system atleast thats how it appears with ea games. sometimes they show the sony vers then show the logo and then sometimes they show the 360 vers with the logo. not sure if its marketing from each side or if thats how ea plays it out but you usually only see "also available on"

This just proves in my eyes that the whole 30FPS thing is overated, and blown well out of proportion. It never hurt the games on the PS2, Xbox and GC so why should it hurt the PS3. Ok so the 360 version is smoother, that just a plus for 360 owners, but the game it's self runs fine at 30fps as do most games that don't require frame perfect actions. I'd still go for the 360 version myself as I have the choice, but you would be a fool to turn your nose up at the PS3 version just because jaded reviewers who are unimpressed by anything short of crysis visuals these days say otherwise. 4th place seems pretty damn good to me as well when the market is much smaller then the 360's as well. Personally I think the 1up score was a good representation of the situation, the PS3 score was essentially the game score, with the extra the 360 version got being for the slightly improved visualls offered by the increased framerate, the games though are essentailly the same.

I just rented Madden 08 for PS3 today.
This is my review:

I want to be honest and say its NOT as bad as that magazine made it out to be. During the game it ran Great! There were NO FPS drops and choppy gameplay like that one review said there was. Every once in a while there would be a 1 second pause when loading the Playbook, but thats not everytime.

The main menu however, did have a horrible FPS as the 2 video screens ran choppy... but this doesnt effect gameplay what so ever.

Also I got LOST at the main menu, you sit there with no menu, just 2 sides and a Ring display, then I read the bottom and saw you have to hit start to get the menu. DOH.

I skipped Madden 07 to be honest, but the jump from Maddeon 06 to 08 was to my surpize HUGE. The graphics showed that EA is trying IMHO. They looked pretty good. (720P)

I've also played Madden online for the first time and I got owned :) (Browns vs. Jets) But there was also no lag. I Really liked the lobby EA setup, It was easy to use, and pretty featured. The EA sports stuff was cool, as I got info on the Cleveland Indians game :) Finding an oppenent through matchmaking was instant. Totally smooth ride, that one reviewer that said 08's online is crappy might have played the wrong game, or just skipped that part of his research honestly.

I have no idea what the game looks like in 60fps but I want to tell you guys, it was a smooth ride at 30fps.

I'm not trying to be a fanboy here, As the 360 version of 08 is probally better with the 60fps, I just want to clear the water on this magazines review, and say that the gameplay WAS smooth and not choppy like they tried to say.

PS3 version deserved a better review. IMO.

This is exactly what I expected, and why I never go by one sites reviews. I also prefer to see player reviews as well, as games journalists these days seem to be the biggest GFX whores out there at times. In my view GFX should be a final addition just for atmosphere in a review, with gameplay and controls being first. Sadly too often if a game is fun and plays well but has average GFX it is more offten than not given lower reviews than a game with average gameplay and controls and good GFX.

Thank fek for the Wii tho as at least that is slowly convincing GFX whores that looks are not what makes a game.
