You really should do a search for something as basic as this, or you will get flamed.

I'm sorry to tell you that it's not possible to downgrade the firmware. Forget about homebrew for now until somebody cracks the later firmwares (if ever).

Teamxecuter is currently working on a downgrade device but they will only ship those to retailers such as gamefreaks and stores similar to that one. YouŽll have to send your psp to them and downgrade it for a small fee. Thats what they stated but if theyŽll do it or when is another question. The only thing left to do is just wait. And next time be aware when flashing a firmware.

I believe that teamxecuter wasn't really working on a downgrade device, but rather said that it was not needed, because it could all be done via a software hack. The device that they were going to make, would simply be a means for using mass storage devices on the psp. But that's just how I understood their article.

Yes u understood right. But they are going to produce 2 devices. One will be the mass storage converter which we all can buy in a near future. The other thing was the downgrader that will only be shipped to retailers and stores to "repair" the psp. They also mentioned that everything can be done with software but I think this was in terms of the loaders. It still isnt possible to do anything with a firmware with software because theres no source code and the firmware itself is decrypted. Some parts of it have already been encrypted but if you look how big a firmware is (~30 mb) its likely to not be encrypted fully so soon. So the easier thing would be a hardware version like a jtag device to use and inject some code at the right place or fully delete the firmware.

Exactly, this is the first I've heard of this. I can verify it has never been posted on teamxecuter.com.

Team Xecuter did actually state on their site that they have successfully downgraded firmwares with their piece of hardware. But they said they wont be releasing it as in the future it wont be required due to software hacks becoming available.

First of all, there is no downgrader, and if there ever is one, YOU WILL KNOW ABOUT IT! Second, yes teamxecuter has talked about downgrading. They said that they will make a device and sell it to resellers so that you can mail your psp in and have it reflashed. They also said it is possible thru software and they have done it. They are also working on a mass storage device to plug in all kinds of media. THIS WAS POSTED ON THEIR SITE, as well as irc and every other psp site known to man about a moth and a half ago.

STOP asking about downgraders, you will know everything when it develops!
