My Wii has a WiiNja V2 and its been perfect.. I never get DREs and all games work flawlessly.

However, like many, I get that occasional crash where the whole thing locks up and you have to press/hold the standby button to do a full reset.

I have found that this 'crash' is happening more and more and I have realised that its with Resident Evil

The way it goes is this..

1. I load Resident evil
2. I then switch off using the standby button on the wiimote
3. I power on the Wii (using the standby button on the Wiimote)
4. I load Resident Evil.

At this point I get a "Disk cannot be read" error and the Wii locks up.

5. I now press hold the standby button on the front of the Wii to turn it off
6. Now I can switch on an play Resident Evil with no problems.

If I repeat the above it does the same thing every time.. Buts its only like this with Resident Evil... I can't see that its a bad disk, as it would do it every time.. Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

Based on the fact that it plays perfeclty after a 'power off', "Media" would be my last thought.. I can't see how it can be, as all my games are on the same media and I have no other problems.

But I will burn another copy, just to check.. But as I said, since the game plays flawlessly with no errors, or glitches, I can't see how its media...

if you burn 100 discs on any media surely one will have some sort of little sector with a small problem like this. Just reburn it n it should be fine.
Doesn't have to do it every time because the data doesn't have to be missing. Could be for example at some spot the pigment is a little bit less intense than other regions, so sometimes it can read it fine and others it just isn't enough so it does this. (my theory anyway)
