help is greatly appreciated.

ps: also, could anyone let me know if megaman x3 will run on the emu? i remember it having some special chip in it, and i know on some of the emus it matters.

Download SNEmulDS. Since the R4 autopatched, you won't have to manually do it. Put snemul.cfg in the root of your card, and put your ROMs in a folder called "SNES". And any game with a special chip won't run, sorry.

Like Pedro said, it should automatically patch with DLDI, but if you get errors about it not being able to find the /SNES/ directory, then try manually patching it. Also read the following pages:

k i downloaded the emu and put the .cfg file in the root, made a snes folder, and put the .smc files in the snes folder. which is probly part of the problem. i download the roms in .zip files and tried putting those in the snes folder first, but that didnt work either.

which file do i need to put in the snes folder? the .zip or the .smc? and do i need to include the .nds patch file in the root as well?

again, help is appreciated.

The roms need to be in *.smc format, so don't zip them. The *.nds file can be anywhere on your card, but you must be sure that it's been patched with DLDI. Otherwise it looks like you're doing everything right.

i thought that i didnt need to patch it because im using an r4?

right now, when i click the .nds file on my r4 it goes through these instructions:

Init OK...
0x200ad18initialize FS...
Please restart if stuck...
FS Failure, continue anyway...
rompath = /SNES/
No files found.
Please put ROMs in /SNES/ directory of your CF/SD card

but the thing is i put a few of my .smc rom files in the snes folder i made on my card. you can even see the folder on the r4 menu, but you cant see files. what am i doing wrong?

The R4 should autopatch it, yes, but sometimes this fails. Please install DLDIrc and manually patch SNEmulDS.nds with the R4's DLDI file. The "FS Failure" part there means it can't access your filesystem at all, so it can't tell whether or not you have any games in the SNES folder.

You could also check your card for corruption if that fails.

Try copying all the files off your card into some backup folder on your computer, reformatting the card, and copying them back. It could be a corruption issue with the microSD card.
