I recently put Mario Strikers into my US Wii with WiiKey and it did an update on it. I just heard about this brick problems and was scared about my Wii.

Why did my Wii not brick? I bought my Wii recently and it came with 2.2U. Is that why? And is my Wii totally safe or did the update still do something to it? Finally, what preventive measures can I do from now on to protect my Wii from bricking?

Thanks guys!

So no files have been added to my US Wii. Like some PAL files added to my NAND in my US Wii?

If you updated your US Wii with a US(NTSC) version of Mario Strikers then you are fine. The problem is when people try to run the updates from a different region game then what region of console they have. Different region consoles use a different file path. So when you update your US Wii with a different region update then it screws up your systems file path. Resulting in a brick/semi brick.

Just never run the updates on games from a different region and you'll always be safe.

Ppl brick their wii's because they're idiots and the update their US wii with a PAL update or visa versa. As long as you update from a game of the same region or over the internet, you're fine.
