wiid disc error

i have a wiid on my wii the problem i have is that it keeps saying unable to read the disc. it reads back ups and it knows what they are but on pressing start it says the game disc could not be read it is fine on originals and it doesnt seem to matter if the back ups are pal (same as wii) or ntsc could this be because im using cheap 4 times max dvd~r

Could be many things.
When I first got mine wii chipped, my firend gave me some backups.
They worked fine.
I then made backups of my own Wii games using the corect dvd drive (My mom had one, so I swaped her drives)
I burned some onto cheap Staples media and they would DRE.
The Gamecube backups I made took FOREVER to load as well.

I then bought some printable Memorex dvd +r (Same brand my friend was using) and burned again.
I still get DRE or slow load times and lots of readhead activity and noise.
I am burning at 4x (Slowest my burner will burn) and burning with IMGBURN.
(My printer printing on the dvds looks really nice though)

So Paper Mario burned on Memorex Printable at 4x by my friend loads right up
but Paper Mario burned on Memorex Printable at 4x by me takes awhile to read and sometimes gives a DRE.

My fix = Burning my games on my wifes computer at 2.4 X (Even with newest firmware)
Same media. but my Wii like em now.

My wifes is a generic, go figure.

Also, my friends friends Wii does not like the printable Memorex +r at all.
So I believe this is trial and error.

thanks for the help. got it all up and running now, the dvd discs were rubbish so i got some sonys and so far everything but resident evil is fine so as everyone has said when i checked it was just rubbish discs
