Comic-Con has experienced the confirmation that Viva Pinata is heading to the DS. The game is of course based on the original Xbox 360 version but will feature the DS's touch based controls and a new top down control scheme. Hopefully the franchise will experience better success on the DS due to its portable fun nature.

Another Comic-Con debutee has emerged in the form of Viva Piņata for the DS. Based on the original game on the Xbox 360 and not Krome's party spin off, Viva Piņata DS changes to a new top down control scheme and will feature (obviously) DS touch screen based controls. We reported back in February that Microsoft were toying with the idea and VP's poor reception (sales wise) was obviously enough for them to green light a pocket sized DS version. Perhaps with the different market the DS has it might do a bit better, it deserves it.
