Hello everyone,
I am considering buying a PSP from Japan so I was wondering if there have already been PSPs produced with >1.50 preflashed.
In other words: If I buy an import from Japan can I be sure that it won't be 1.51 or 1.52?
Thanks for all replies in advance!

Not sure about the Japanese PSPs, but in the U.S. I believe they still ship with v1.50.

I thought that Japan had bumped theirs to 1.51 out the box. I could be wrong.

You most certainly won't see JAP PSPs shipped with v1.0 anymore. Maybe a 3% chance you can buy a new v1.0 from a JP shop or a not so popular importer that still has old stock ;)

Most new PSPs in the US ship with 1.51 or 1.52.

Do you have any proof to support that kazuya? AFAIK all american psps are still 1.5s and japs are still 1.0s. Do you have any sites that say this or anything from sony that says they aren't making 1.5 psps anymore?

I just got a 1.50 from CompUSA last week, but what sucks is it has about 15 white stuck pixels. I know they'll exchange it no problem but I dont know if I want to take the risk of getting a 1.51 or 1.52 :(

Got my PSP from my girlfriend yesterday as a birthday gift.

It came from a wellknown internet retailer in Hong Kong. It was ordered a little over a week ago, it's a Jap PSP with firmware version 1.00.

I haven't really heard of anyone getting a v1.51 or 1.52 yet. But I would say it won't be too long before the 1.0 and 1.50 psps are out of stock, and they start shipping 1.51 and 1.52.

That's what you get for not researching before you buy. You can easily tell which firmware the machine has just by looking at the box.

in japan it's almost impossible to get a v1.0 psp (but it's still duable), 1.5 PsPs are going out of stock as we speak, and now you can find mostly 1.51 PsPs in stores, your best shot to get a 1.5 PsP in japan is to look for stores that aren't much frequented, or buy it in small convenience stores but even so I have doubt. You can most likely get a second hand 1.0 or 1.5 PsP in japan in shops such as trader in akihabara (near the suehirocho station of Tokyo Metro Ginza line), Rumors also state that 1.52 PsPs are beggining to bve sold in japan.

In the USA there are still 1.5 but they are becomming harder to find, most USA PsPs for sale are now 1.51 versions.

Unlike the japanese PsPs you can know the firmware version of the PsP in the USA from the box, if there is a "B" it's an 1.51 version.
