Uh....ok...

Either way, the one thing that surprised me was the RE5 teaser trailer. The CoD4 gameplay was amazing though, the lighting effects alone have sold it with me. Was pissed that G4 went to commercial during the Halo 3 gameplay trailer though. They did show the last bit of it but they were talking during. In all it was an alright show, was hoping to hear more but obviously I should have known that Microsoft never shows their hand the first day of E3. The dude who wrote this is wrong about 1 thing though, Cliffy B. specifically said Gears is for Vista AND XP. And another thing, I already have a Halo 3 Xbox 360 and I only payed 42 bucks for it, so joke's on you MS.

some things where alright. watched it on g4. the crowd didn't seem that excited about anything going on. they acted pretty dissapointed, at least thats what there silence would suggest.

seemed like they will have a decent holiday lineup.

can't wait to see what sony and nintendo have in store tomorrow.

Yea, G4 had way too many commercial breaks at very inapropriate times.... thats why I got pissed and just went to watch it live from Gamespot.com, Commercial free FTW!

I hope Mass Effect is not going to perform as crappy as they showed it today, If the game plays with frame rates like that (looked like they were in the low 20's high teens) I think I would have to pass on that for the time being.

Assassins Creed looked good.....

And of Coarse I am hyped about Gears Coming to the PC. Did you guys see how smooth that thing played! 5 extra chapters! And, of coarse, hundreds UPON hundreds of multi-player maps to play on! PC OWNS!!!!!

lol...halo to change storytelling??? I wonder why he didn't re-iterate the extension of warranties on all 360s? Japan doesn't love xbox...capcom loves money :D Other than that.. things are looking good.

No price drop information from M$. Looks like they are pretty confident that they can outsell the competition at the same price. But with the line up of exclusive games that are coming in the near future, I don't blame them. Most people will give in even without a price drop.

Actually, my School has an "Amphitheater" like that and the acoustics keep it very silent for speeches and such. Really not surprising how many fanboys showed up in this thread, huh?

yeah the RE5 trailer was a bit unexpected. looks cool. call of duty will be cool, though i am looking forward more to the pc version, it appears there will be a pc version anyways, seeing as there is a pc section on there forums as well as for a PS3 and 360 versions with there own forums.

never was a huge halo fan though. maybe this one will actually be better to me.

actually there was a few instances of talking about live on xp. ms said it was a slip of the tong but someone was paying attention and said it happened the following times. could live for windows be coming to xp?

I first noticed it when Cliffy B was finishing up his Gears of War demo for Games for Windows with Live integration. I asked Chuck "Did he just say XP?" And yes, Cliffy said that GoW would be out on PC for XP and Vista. Chuck checked with Microsoft PR and they said it was a "slip". Well, after the flood of PR showed up, the one for Games for Windows has no less than five references to XP with Live integration on Games for Windows.

1. "..."Viva Piñata®" to Microsoft® Windows XP and Windows Vista® gamers this year as Games for Windows-branded titles with LIVE support"
2. "...Eidos, SEGA and THQ announced their intention to join Microsoft Game Studios in supporting the Games for Windows - LIVE online service for Windows XP and Windows Vista."
3. "..."Gears of War" will emerge on Windows XP-based and Windows Vista-based PCs this holiday"
4. "Games for Windows - LIVE titles enable gamers to easily find and communicate with their friends online, earn Achievements and play with others on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Xbox 360."
5. "By the end of this year, gamers on Windows XP and Windows Vista will have at least a dozen Games for Windows - LIVE-enabled titles to chose from, with many more slated for 2008 and beyond"

We are seeking clarification from Microsoft on this

this is one of those times when you expected some applause bit it seemed like nothing but silence. http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/video/the-worst-way-to-launch-a-console-ever-277067.php?autoplay=true

i felt like most of the event was kinda like that. you expected to hear more noise and applause.

Well, didn't realize how tough the crowd was..
Looking at the game announcements given in the press release, and the list of exclusives and timed exclusives, I would have said it was a pretty good performance by Microsoft.

Yet, looking at the videos from the event, it sure looks like the crowd wasn't any excited. Seeing the video you pointed out, we can even hear laughter over the XBOX360 Halo LE.
Maybe the crowd was feeling like Peter Moore and the strategy for XBOX360 is a one trick monkey..

Nevertheless, like I have stated in the beginning of the post, looking at the press release Microsoft presents a pretty solid lineup, not to say impressive.

Actually he was using US only numbers, Halo 1 did sell more copies than Smash Bros. in the US. Not world wide but in the US they did. That is why his chart just before that showed only 5.5 million 360 consoles sold.

Well, we have to admit that he with the biggest mouth gets heard most. Again, MS jumped a day early with their MS Media presentation and what most people won't realize is that many of the games they were talking about were multi platform titles and not 360 exclusives. What did impress me was the fact that they managed to get a plethora of Disney properties to be shown on LIVE. I'm no Disney fan but just imagine the royalty and licensing fees that went into this deal for digital distribution.

I know more people that download and watch content on their 360 than on Comcast's On Demand service. This is probably where I give MS their props and I must say that they do "currently" deserve to be named the home multi-media console. As a Sony fan boy, I wondering how the upcoming revamped online market place will be different form what is out now.

One part that I thought was a complete waste of time was when they had that pro football player come out and show us how to play yet another sports title. These games are not about what you can do but more about it's replay value. I'm curious to see what MS will unveil within the next couple of days and I'm sure that they won't disappoint but I was surprised to hear that Halo fans will have to wait 11 weeks for their beloved title.

For once I'd have to say I agree with Nimbus, The MS conference sucked. Nintendo and Sony will have a hard time not bettering MS's conference, as for MS announcing another (limited edition) SKU, talk about confusing the customers. As for Killzone well that one game overshadowed MS's entire conference.
