You're right, it is. Microsoft is a huge corporation, therefore they are Republicans. And everyone knows the republican party doesn't believe in Global Warming.

Yea MS did not believe in 1080p or HDMI either and look what happened :)

You're both ignorant fanboys. You can get 1080p with Componant cables that come with the console, and allowed you to get 1080p back in 2005. Unlike Sony, Microsoft didn't make you go out and buy a HDMI cable to get 1080p. So obviously, HDMI is useless despite what you and Sony believe, and MS knew 1080p was important before Sony pushed the PS3 back 2 times and never did get around to giving the consumer an HDMI cable. So to answer your question of what happened, the 360 sold 7 Million more consoles than the PS3. :)

Dude, they remarked that it was not needed. If it's true that HDMI is not needed, why put out the Elite at all? Obviously, they missed something. While 1080p is possible with component, it only works on compatible HDTV units (didn't it also have to be done with an update?). 7 million more than PS3, but let's see shall we, it came out a year before the PS3, it also has an proximate 33% failure rate for that 7 million. Talk about fanboy.

This post made me laugh. You have no idea what so ever if you think you can get true 1080p with a component cable. HDMI usless? oh well, I guess the whole world except Microsoft got it wrong then? And why did they bother to put an HDMI output on the 360elite if it's not needed? Yes the 360 have sold 7mil more but it also got an 18 moths head start, but you forgot to mention that didn't you?...
According to my book you're the true fanboy in this post, talking crap and supporting Microsoft what so ever. oh well, go ahead and quote me and all that stuff, but atleast try to get a clue about what you'r talking about.

Anyone that knows anything about electronics could tell you HDMI doesn't do anything that Component can't. They put it on the Elite because people who wanted to spend extra money on it, ie the people who bought a PS3 believing that HDMI was needed for "True HD Gaming". And no, it works out of the box with Component, you just set the console to HD settings. And compatible HDTVs? I think you've got that backward man, Component works on every HDTV while HDMI does not. Yep, I am a fanboy, because I totally said that it was justifiable, I said the 7 million like it didn't make sense, just like him acting like the 360 got 3ROD from not having HDMI. Rofl.

So...in your mind you can't get true HD without HDMI huh? Looks like someone just accepted Sony's BS as truth instead of doing their homework (http://hdtvspace.blogspot.com/2006/09/xbox360-goes-1080p-but-without-hdmi.html). Were you expecting 4D gaming when you put in Resistance? But of course, your PS3 can't do 1080p without HDMI, so you can be excused for your ignorance. But yep, I'm a fanboy in your book...and why? Because I know what I'm talking about? About the HD thing, I mentioned above I stated the 7 million console mark to sound illogical because that's what they were being, a little more confusing of sarcasm but hey...don't feel bad if you can't understand it. :)

Most HDTV can handle component cables for 1080i...for 1080p you need a compatible HDTV model. Seriously, look it up. One of those TVs brand is Westinghouse. I guarantee you not all 1080p sets will allow a 360 to display 1080p over component. Anyone who knows about electronics will tell you there is a bandwidth problem there.
Again, why even bother with an HDMI model especially after publicly stating it's not needed or necessary? You're dodging this question! To sell it? Even though they came out straight saying that they don't need it. Answer is simple, it's easier to output 1080p with HDMI, it'll be backwards compatible with those sets that can display 1080p just not over component. Let's reiterate that they publicly denounce the need for 1080p as well.
Also, yes HDMI can do things component can't. There are protection on both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray that can only be used by HDMI/DVI (HDCP-compliant). I'm also pretty sure this was another reason for a revision. If you don't have the HDCP-compliance, guess what happens to the digital format that is suppose to be output from your machine...it defaults to a lower resolution.
You obviously have no clue when it comes to digital display.

Pretty sure the main point I was making was that the 360 doesn't need HDMI to do True HD, chief. ;) :) My cheap ass 500 dollar 32" HDTV can do 1080p with my 360, so my guess is the majority of all HDTVs can do it through Component.

Fantastic for you. It doesn't mean it runs on every 1080p enable HDTV, it just means it runs on yours, chief. The main point you keep trying to dodge and the main point you responded to in the first place was that Microsoft continually deflected the need for 1080p on anything be it over component or HDMI, but they relented with the Elite and with the patch to enable 1080p over component.

So by your logic, you're saying that the more expensive HDTVs wouldn't be able to run it? Well that makes a lot of sense. O_o And I have yet to see Microsoft ever say that 1080p wasn't needed. But feel free to spend the time to try and find it. :)

Learn to READ and use proper logic! The reason why they have an Elite model is because older 1080p model won't work over component only over HDMI. The newer models especially the more expensive ones have better components that allow for better bandwidth transfer over component, the signal doesn't get won't degraded the bandwidth.
For a company, that stated they didn't need 1080p or that HDMI wasn't need, they sure turned that around pretty darn quick with the patch then the Elite. Even if they didn't say anything about 1080p (which they did), they also commented on how they don't need HDMI (again, they did).
You keep on dodging.

Bingo. You got it :)
Ms can say or do anything it wants and then flipflop and do the opposite without fear of its fanbase or news-media backlash.
Lol to Scorpion calling others Fanboys. Maybe You are = to MS in your hipocrisy, spin, dodging and desperation.

How exactly do I keep dodging? How hard is it to understand that the reason they put HDMI in the newer 360's is for people who needed it? I've never denied that, but you keep acting like Microsoft fucked their console by not putting it in. My whole point was that the 360 can do 1080p because unlike the PS3, it has an upscaler chip.

I agree, he's probably not, didn't google his name though. I didn't mean he was a fanboy in the sense that he was completely blinded but just meant his comment was biased because it didn't make any sense and therefore just sounded like a fanboy rant.

My whole point was that the 360 can do 1080p because unlike the PS3, it has an upscaler chip.
O'Rly, then I wonder how all my PS1/PS2 game get upscaled to 1080p..... I guess you Xbots call it MAGIC... right!
Ok please list me all the 360 games that can be played at 1080p, I'm not sure if they are any. But just looking at some it says 1080i.... therefore it means that the game is not 1080p native, and if you were smart you would know the 1080p NATIVE does not look the same as 1080p UPSCALED.
So according to you logic a DVD that is upscaled to 1080p looks as good as a Blu-Ray or a HD-DVD movie..... well then in that case your logic is seriously flawed!
You FAIL!!

The Sharp Aquos LC-32GS10 and LC-32GS20's can, so can the Hitachi Ultravision HLT79 and the Sony KDL-V32XBR2, there are a couple more but I dont know the model numbers off the top of my head. Waste of money imho but ran across them when I was looking for a new TV/Monitor for my office.

Exactly, mine's an Aquos, so probably the model that you listed. It's a great TV for the cheap price.
