View Full Version : Beautiful Katamari definitely not coming to PS3
It would seem as if even the smallest ray of hope of Beautiful Katmari heading to the PS3 has been dashed as the official website for the title only mentions an Xbox 360 version. This comes following news earlier this week Namco Bandai had erased any mention of the game in relation to the PS3 from its factsheet and list of E3 games.

Exactly, I got the message the 1st time, Famitsu even confirmed the PS3 version got cancelled.
I found that out on Wikipedia
I still don't understand why the hell they put this game in PSM for PS3 if it's not going to be on PS3.

Have you ever read psm its a sony fanyboys wet dream just like half the xbox magazines are for microsoft fanboys, so an ad like that is quite weird to see.
I can't see this selling well on the 360 as its not going to interest the average 360 owner and would have been better trying it on wii or sticking to handheld where it is a classic. This seems a very strange decision for namco bandai as porting it from the 360 to ps3 would have been a good way to guarantee some profit.

True, but I still find it pretty pathetic people like him say that Microsoft payed them for their exclusivity but don't say anything when Sony gets a new exclusive. The 360 getting a ton of games could never be because of it's giant following and it selling about 8 million more consoles than the PS3. I know, you're asking what about Nintendo but even though it's selling well, you have to accept that the Wii is a novelty item, like one of those Atari Joysticks that have 3 games on it, except it's 250 bucks and can play multiple games. That's not a fanboy comment, I own a Wii but don't do much with it ATM, already beat RE4 again and am now just waiting for UC.

PSM is very fanboy-ish though. I used to have a subscription back when the PS2 was relevant. OXM is surprisingly unbiased giving nods to Blu-ray at times, which is very surprising for an Official Magazine. But XBN is very biased like PSM and OPM.

Well our official xbox mag in the U.K. is hugely bias and even goes as far as to say the wireless internet adaptor is a great bargain and everybody knows there are alot cheaper devices on the market. I only bought it to try the demo's on the coverdisc when first bought the 360 but never will again as it was a sickly read hearing how fantastic the 360 and ming the merciless (peter moore to everybody else) is.
I just have to add it to my List of Five 360 games to buy...

Mass Effect
Halo Wars
KOTOR 3 If it's Xbox only
Fable 2 If it's Xbox only
and now My Beautiful Katamari
Besides those the 360 has nothing worth getting, any titles that are for PS3 that 360 has I sure as hell get them for PS3
(And don't say Gears of War... I own this game and it sucks tremendously, I bet I have not played it more than 2 hours...)

loooooool and this really sucks b*lls i was really looking forward to this but there is no way on earth i'm buying a xbox 360 for just one game tough, i wanted this on the Wii aswell they could at least have the decency to release it on the Wii! so much wasted potential :( now the xbots can boast about "stealing" another exclusive from sony now.

Ms didn't buy it, it is just worthless to make money on the ps3 with this game.
I highly doubt it will sell much on x360 (i dont care) but due to more machines in the wild it would probably bring them more money. would now be just as logical for a wii release since they are still flying off shelves
the game series is well underrated, it's a completely hidden gem and i love the series, big fan myself :D

That statement finally made me realize why fanboys exist. Maybe if they had all the systems they wouldn't feel let down by the fact that a game they wanted was only coming out on the system they don't own.
It's like republicans that voted for Bush that knows he's doing a piss poor job but will stand by him no matter what cause they made that choice and now they have to live with it come what may.

Why? Isn't it mostly accepted that on average, 360 versions of the same game look better and load more quickly? Not only that, but games such as Virtua Fighter 5 have an online component on the 360 but not the PS3. Why would you support a publishers inferior product of the same price?

We are perhaps giving too importance to this game, undoubtedly it receives a lot of success, but I believe that the exclusive most important lost by Sony both Devil May Cry 4.

Gears of War sucks tremendously? O RLY? It has a metaranking of 93.8% which puts it at top 40 of all time on gamerankings.com. You may not have liked it but its an absolutely killer game.
As for Fable, do you believe a game Published by Microsoft Studios will appear on the PS3? Just curious. BTW that is sarcasm. The underlying meaning is "pwned, you are a moron. "
And as far as I can tell Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Katamari are coming out this year as well as Too Human, Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, and Huxley. The PS3's exclusives that are coming later this year are: Lair, Heavenly Sword, Singstar, Uncharted. At least this year the 360 totally pwns the PS3. Next year we will see MGS, Final Fantasy 13, Killzone, Little Big World and others but this year the PS3 has almost nothing going for it.

Mostly every major multiplatform publication worldwide. The notable exception of course being Oblivion.

I hope you're not as foolish as the staff who work in my local game who tried telling me that the Playstation 3's graphics in standard definition are better than the Xbox 360's in high definition. Too many people are ignorant to compare things themselves and draw their own conclusions, instead they will believe what is told to them or as technology goes - they will claim that the leading brand has superiority in all aspects compared to its rivals. How else can one explain the iPods success.

My 360 has died once. Gears is great and I'm sorry you couldnt enjoy it. You know the Maxconsole board and most of us. We all disagree. Nearly every gamer as well as nearly every game reviewer out there believes that the PS3 has been a notch below the 360 in every game so far other than Oblivion.
As for reviews-- you said that Gears sucked. You didnt say you didnt like it. You said it sucked. Reviews and popular opinion are what determines a good game. Not one stupid ass from maxconsole.
If you like crappy games with crappy reviews then good for you. Enjoy your PS3
and yeah I coughed at the 600 of the PS3. I also coughed at the 550 I had to pay for my 360 because I got it a few months after launch and they forced people to buy bundles. Whats your point?
