Can someone describe the different stealth modes for each of the modchips? The place I am getting modchips installed has the options of a WiiKey, Cyclowiz, and the WiiD. They stop supporting the Wiinja for some update issues with the chip.
Wiinja Deluxe was my first option, but now I dont know which one to go for.
Thanks for any help.

Which modchips can be shut off then? I know about the cyclowiz but can the others?
I also heard that the Wiikey injects code ALL time (including original games), while something like the Wiinja injects code only when needed.
Is this true?
Which chip is my best option for someone just looking to play same region backups, and probably homebrew? I just want to make sure there is future support for upgrades.
Thanks
The only truly stealth modchip is one that you can remove. This is why I did mine externally.

For you, same region backups, anything. The cheapest.
Homebrew Wii: none, its not possible.
Homebrew GC: again, anything, the cheapest.
As for stealth, none have any issues, its pointless worrying about it.

Thanks, so it doesnt really matter that much. The options the installer provides for $50 CDN is the WiiD, Wiinja, Cyclowiz, and the Wiikey. The chips are all real, they do the mods in front of you.
From those chips, the installer said to get the Wiikey, he even told me there were updates for it. From what I have heard, the problem with Wiikey, is it constantly sends code to the system to bypass games even originals.
Cyclowiz has something sticking out, so forget that.
WiiD is supposedly similar to the Wiikey, but has upgrades and an option to turn the chip off.
I was told the Wiinja has a similar option to solder an extra point.
I asked the installer about the Wiinja Deluxe, and he said that the chip has major problems with some updates and games.
Which should I go for if price is all the same?

All chips will stop after its done, its a very very very simple process that it has to do. Look at the open source code and you will understand pretty easily.
Wiikey has no updates, thats rubbish.
I'm not 100% on the wiinja, i dont see why it would have problems with any games on the wii side, and it has the audiofix on the gc side so shouldnt be an issue.
I still maintain cheapest is best.

thanks again, the reason i am going with a commercial mod, is that I can't do these open mods. Plus if there are constant updates for the open mods, I wont be able to keep up.
rite now I am off school, and start 2nd year university come September and won't have time for games, so a commercial mod is just fine.
Since they are the same price, I guess it doesnt matter, and I will go with the Wiinja Deluxe, unless a GOOD Wiikey updates comes out this or next week.

Wiikey will never have an update, im starting to bet my kidneys.
There isn't a billion updates for the open mods, you will find you could just install and not have to update. The simplicity makes them almost infallible.
