PRESS RELEASE: FATAL INERTIA™ TO USHER IN A BRAVE NEW WORLD OF COMBAT RACING THIS SEPTEMBER 2007

In KOEI’s Futuristic Combat Racing Game for Xbox 360™ the Battle for Supremacy is Won in the Untamed Wilderness

Burlingame, CA—July 2, 2007 -- KOEI, recognized worldwide as the premier brand of strategy and action games, today announced that Fatal Inertia is scheduled to ship to North American retailers on September 11, 2007 for Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

“KOEI has been at the forefront of creating the most engaging action games, so with Fatal Inertia we’re now lending our action game talents to the racing genre to deliver an experience that is as fun as it is fast,” said Senior Vice President of KOEI Corporation Amos Ip. “Armed with an eclectic variety of weapons and racing challenges, plus elegant and intuitive driver controls, Fatal Inertia is quite simply bringing high-speed fun and excitement back to the combat racing genre.”

“By designing Fatal Inertia’s gameplay around a physics engine it not only allowed us to create a truly different driving model, but it also helped us create a set of dynamic weapons with multiple tactical applications,” said Lead Game Designer Michael Bond. “We’ve based many of the game’s weapons on straightforward physical principles, and by doing so we’re giving players the freedom to come up with their own creative ways of using them- ways that even we are still discovering.”

Fatal Inertia is the debut title from KOEI’s Toronto-based development studio, KOEI Canada. The team is led by Producer Takazumi Tomoike, creator of the Dynasty Warriors® series, and KOEI Co-Founder and Chief Advisor Yoichi Erikawa, who under the pen name Kou Shibusawa is regarded as one of the world’s top video game designers.

this will continue to happen while lazy developers make the game on the easier to develop 360, and port over to ps3.

Things will improve though. I'm glad the whole negativity towards PS3 is finally fading out too. Some great games coming out this year and next year will be even better. FINALLY

That's what I was going to say. It probably got delayed/cancelled for the PS3 since there's no way it can compete with Wipeout.

geez malloc would it hurt for you to proofread your articles just a little bit before you post? a simple once-over would catch the typo in the title.

yeah, I gotta agree there

although its funny that the game was supposed to be PS3 exclusive when it was announced. Then the developers discovered how easy the M$ tools were and decided to develop for both consoles on the M$ dev kit. Now they are crapping out on the PS3 pretty badly and it may never come to the PS3. M$ has some good tools for developing for their console, but it definitely looks like either PS3 is a ***** to port to or M$'s dev kit is unfriendly to porting. Maybe both.

Do you realise how much of an idiot you are for repeating the 'lazy developers' term?

And when exactly does the 'fading' begins? For now, the only thing I find fading is the ammount of PS3 exclusives.

Be happy to have malloc post any "positive" news about PS3 at all from time to time. And by "positive" I mean non-negative, because there's hardly any postitivity about that pile of crap Sony tried to choke on us.

The only thing that i think looks assy about it is the machine gun ammo... otherwise it looks like fun.

This had to be a doubt after the announcement that wipeout pulse was coming to psn in HD as this would not be able to compete with the network game price and has an uphill struggle to win over the wipeout fans too. Where the 360 is lacking in this sort of game and would braoden its appeal.
