My modded Wii after the power went out & back on for a couple seconds, now will not power up. Anyone have any experience with this, could the power supply be fried or is their a fuse or something in the Wii that protects it ? It was plugged into a surge protector. Im only assuming it was the power outage that caused it, as 2 hrs after is when we noticed it.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like your surge protector dident work :-/ .
Its probly beyond repair. You should call nintendo and get it replaced for free.

Try unplugging it for a few minutes, then try it again.

Also the outlet may be screwed up so try another one.

Have an electrician check your home's wiring!
Anyway, have you unplugged the Wii for a few minutes? Some power issues require a real power cycling before they'll work again. Also, press power asfter removing the plug to get that last little bit of juice out of it.

I unplugged the Wii for 3 hrs, plugged it in a different outlet & it worked !!. Plugged it back in the same surge protector it was in during the power outage & it still worked !! all is good !! :D

So a full power cycle (as suggested) did the trick. Great! Enjoy.

My Wii blows fuses like nobodies business.
I reckon it's gone through half a dozen. No other device in my house functions like this and I'm sure my power supply is as good as can be expected. It generally happens after I eject a game and put a new one in/ reset.
The fuses are blown I have tested them with a multimeter.
I've taken to hard resetting every time and so far this hasn't happened again.
