Hey everyone,

Been reading a lot of posts lately, so I bought a wiikey and decided to open up my wii to see what kind of chip I was dealing with. To my surprise, I have a D2B chip WITH LEGS ATTACHED. Throughout my readings, I thought that the D2B's would have chopped legs (I even ordered a dremel tool), and if you're lucky you may have stubs.

I bought this brand new at best buy 6/26 in Ohio.

Am I a retard or is this a rare? (I know if I'm a retard, you all will let me know) :D

I will take a pic and try put it up shortly.

Serial is begins w/ LU3149 if that helps anyone.

Later D2B ones are the ones that have the legs cut.

That is true in its wording, but it doesnt say that they ALL have them cut.

It seems a temporary attempt until Nintendo release a new drive chipset.

There have been D2C chip pictures circulating, but as of yet, its a bit iffy.

If you bought a wiikey you obviously didn't read enough. XD

The cutted legs are the minority but everyone who has them posts about his failed modding attempt, so it looks like if there were much of them.

Wow, thanks for the fast responses guys.

Agreed, the more I read, the more I realize that open source is the way to go.

Not necessarily. Wiinja Deluxe is a very good chip and the clones are fairly cheap. But you'll get the most fun out of building a chip yourself, ofcourse.
