Hi All

Just a quick question regarding the Wiikey. I believe i have read somewhere that you can turn off the region code setting, therefore stopping the firmware update??

If this is true, would that mean that it isnt possbile to brick the Wii by using a patched NTSC game (i have a PAL Wii).

Thanks

If your PAL firmware is higher or equal to the NTSC update, it shouldn't be a problem.

NTSC dumps still contain updates wether they are made region free or not, so you need to use Brick Blocker to block the update from installing.

if your firmware is 2.2 your wii won't make an update either your console is pal or ntsc

I take it "brick the Wii" means to break it completely? where is the brick blocker? is that on the config disc for Wii key? sorry but i'm new here and don't want a funeral for my little white box :(
and how do you check the firmware? i got a launch Wii and its a PAL machine

Is there any info on this anywhere? I thought once you chipped the Wii you were set? Does this mean there are updates hidden on game discs?

You don't need the Brick Blocker. Just go to your Wii settings and update it before you put the game in. That will ensure you have the latest firmware
