View Full Version : UK repair company withdraw Xbox 360 repairs as problem is Endemic
Micromart, a UK company which has supposedly been in the industry of repairing games consoles for 10 years has announced that they are no longer offer a repair service for the Xbox 360's ring of death fault. They claim the problem is endemic (constantly present) and the volume has made the repair process non viable. However, other repairs to the Xbox 360 are still on the menu.
XBOX 360 - Micromart has now withdrawn from offering a Repair Service for the dreaded 3 Red Lights fault.
This problem is endemic on the XBox 360 console and the volume has made this repair non-viable.
Other repairs to the XBox 360 are still being supported.

Now a company refuses to fix the problem because it is so wide spread.
Go ahead MS, go ahead 360 owners... tell us again how the RLOD problem isn't a big deal.
This pretty much proves it is a big problem and needs to be addressed... although MS are too fucking stubborn to admit and fix their faults. Sorry but I don't want a refurbed problematic console in return, which is the reason I am still yet to purchase one.

I wonder if people will start to admit there's a problem here that needs to be addressed. There's a lot of 360 owners in denial, and think that others are just dumb; better realize that if your 360 hasn't broken down your one of the lucky ones, but don't assume everyone else has been as lucky, and please spare us the "easy fix"es since nobody should have to fix a brand new product.
All I can say to MS is to double time there efforts on finding the cause of the problem, though, I doubt that they will ever admit to the problem since that would be an invitation to get sued by a great percentage of those 11 million 360 owners.

My Xbox 360 died, a month after it went out of warranty. Because I was so stupid that i actually decided to play Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter 2 assuming that it wouldnt destroy my system.
Really, what other game console other than the xbox 360 have you ever heard about stops working because someone bought Forza 2 instead of the transformers, GRAW 2 or Guitarh Hero 2 instead of Viva Pinata? Beyond that some systems just die for no reason. If there was an justice in the world there would be a MAJOR CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!
PS: Customer support was so rude to me, and acted as if this was a very rare problem and since I was out of warranty it wasnt really their problem. So to xbox 360 fan boys, I owned one, liked it, but now it was gone and the company that made it dropped me faster than a hot pile of poo.

^^ you would do yourself a huge favor if you do that. But do not be in a rush, if you do not plan to use your PS3 to it's full potential AKA not only gaming, then i suggest you wait until more games come out. But that's comming around the corner since the PS3 roster from july to november looks jam packed with amazing games. People will not be complaining about the lack of games for the PS3 anymore..... thats for sure.

over the past few days.Reading everything on the internet,i am now afraid to even switch on my 360.
360 has to be the worst console of all time.I don't understand why ppl dont buy a ps3 and spare themselves all the headache.
i can't imagine taking my console worth $400 to a repair shop while its still new.
playstation for life.

ive said it before and ill say it again the 360 is a good machine with a good catalogue of games, aslong as it works the second you have to ring customer care....sorry i mean we dont give a rats arse about your problems or our shitty built console.... you might as well throw the thing at the brick wall and be done with it and microsoft, hell its what i did.
im begining to beleve the name 360 was given to this console because of its return rate to microsoft and its customers

because a working ps3 is as good as a broken 360, so we really have no where to turn. The wii is in a class by itself it's not an alternative to 360 or ps3. the wii is something to own along with a ps3 or 360

Hmmmmm i`m a prospecting nex-gen buyer, which console to choose?! hmmmmm, Very similar games on both, not really much between either in regards to the power...... one has a major design flaw that makes the console a elegently designed red flashing paper weight.... the other is £150 more expensive and, although HUGE, `seems` to put together correctly......
I wonder what will happen at christmas?!
Microsoft have FUC*ED themselves unless they address this problem, hmmmm, Like they should have a year ago when all the SH*T hit the fan. They have the potential with the 360 to win this Next-Gen consumer Monkey fest (war) (Not including wii), only if they pull their finger out.
Haha i do love these little tales of Next-gen woe.

As I said I don't expect them to put out a statement in the lines of "WE FIXED THE 3ROD", but I always assumed that they were looking into it, but when I heard people having the same exact problems on the newly released somewhat re-designed Elite I just had to wonder if they are even trying, or care at all. I'll at least give them credit for not blaming the BIG BAD INTERNET for spreading slander about the 360's failure rates.

there are a lot of people who don't believe that there is a major problem with xbox 360 well if microsoft won't provide hard facts then here is an exercise for you to do:
go to ebay.co.uk
do a search on faulty ps2 (yes playstation 2). do the appropriate filter to refine the search so that you don't bring up things like lasers or games.
i think the result is around 50 to 60 faulty ps2.
now do the same for xbox 360.
you will find about 50 faulty xbox 360.
now here are the facts:
there are at least ten times as many ps2 in the uk as xbox 360. furthermore, i would say that since ps2 have been out for quite a while most of them are out of warranty. i would say that over 50% of xbox 360 are still in warranty in the uk so a lot of those that have broken down actually don't appear on ebay since microsoft will fix them.
So what we have is the number of broken down xbox 360 on ebay is almost the same as broken down ps2. this is truly amazing - this is awesome considering how many ps2 there are out there and how many broken down xbox don't appear because they are still under manufacturer's warranty - don't you think? some say ps2 are supposed to have a reliability problem but it is quite clear that the xbox 360 problem totally dwarfs it.
i might be wrong but there seems to be no faulty ps3 on ebay.co.uk since they are still covered under warranty

ms will not admit this, they will secretly modify the design i think, but admitting, no way.
consequences of admitting
1. a major worldwide 360 recall and replacement
2. lawsuit.
