Some people are freaking insane. I have a premium 360 on a 96" projector and I can't tell the different between 480p/i or 720p/i and in some cases between 720p/1080i on video games or hd tv. Is 1080 progressive really worth 60+?

I have had 2 component switchers, as well as a component console switcher (they are different) and the 2 component switchers broke. As well all the XCM devices have scan lines all over the place.

BUYER BEWARE, these are CRAP products. GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE.

Looks exactly like the Farmer box from xcm that claimed to do a lot of things but failed to deliver. The retailer I bought the former farmer box off of even said that it sucks and they would do a return for a different product if I wanted...which I did.

I have a projector too and believe me, a projector is not a good medium to find quality and differences in those resolutions. You need a really good projector to really see a difference. I find it hard to see any differences if any at all on my projector. But my LCD TV, the differences are noticeable. I got an Elite by the way.

Thats the biggest projector I've ever heard of. :D
If you can't see the difference from even 480p to 720p... then you might not have that great of a PJ. Or one that has a fairly low native resolution.

I would probably buy that box and a new 20" 16:10 LCD right away

i agree that projectors aren't very good for seeing the difference between 720p and 480i. you really need an expensive one or a good ol big screen tv. i cant stand watching SD tv anymore because its so damn blurry. i guess ignorance is bliss...

anyway the problem with these things is that its technically NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WII! i think the ps3 and 360 might have issues with it too. they are not compatible by default. this is because most of the consoles are set to display 480i on default. which... isnt compatible with this device, even they say so! this is quite troublesome if someone is trying to get their console to work on a monitor because you will have to enable them blindly unless you can plug it into a tv near by.

http://x2vga.com : is probably the best looking product for this sort of thing which does display half the the signal which is better then nothing. but i would like to have it all on the screen.

a side annoyance is how the box is built. the front is the vga ports which will have to be curled back, and it would be prefferable to have them all on one side so it looks decent sitting on your desk.

It's not only good looking but a terrific performer as well. I've been wanting this box for quite a while but can't buy it since these guys only ship using courier services, which would double the price of the item as soon it hits customs here.

We have the VDigi box but it only does 720p and it's around the same price of the X2VGA...

We need reviews of this XCM box, at least this thing will be on sale pretty much anywhere.

PS- funny how the XCM guys mention this:
- Automatic video source mode detection (film/graphic)
- Motion-adaptive interfiled de-interlacing
But it doesn't support interlaced signals. Deinterlacing on progressive!

yea i own a vd-z3 i think it is, while looking around it seemed to be the best one and i snagged it pretty cheap on ebay. but it does have its downfalls! the thing tends to make the image a bit blurry and a pain to configure the console for. i also notice that it doesnt seem to quite fill my entire screen
