New Wii Mod

Wii Nes Light Gun.

Hi i saw this over at AcidMods and i thought that i would share it with you guys here.

Cyberpyrot has done a mod for his wiimote, He Attached a Nes Light Gun to It.

Here are the Details:-



First of this mod is not to hard but you can easily mess up a Wii Mote. First step is to remove the IR sensor by de-soldering the solder points on the PCB. Be especially carefull not to damage the tracers as they lift very easily.

Once removed carfully set it aside for later.

What you need to do now is solder 8 long wires to the through holes on the PCB where the IR sensor used to be. Be careful not to bridge any through hole with others as this won't directly affect the board by damage it, it is troublesome tracking issues down later. You may also want to mark the wires to ease in wiring the other side.

Now you will need to solder up the other end. once your done put the wii mote together and power the Wii to test if it is working. You can hold the sensor to the tv and you should see your cursor. If the Wii mote does not power up don't worry you may have wired the pins in wrong "I did this my first time". You will also need to wire two wires for the trigger I forgot to take a picture but you get the idea.

Here is what the completed assembly looks like. I hot glued the IR sensor at the end of the barrel of the NES gun and wired the triggers together. I will post more pictures of the internals later.

This is how the gun will be set up I will have an arm band strapping the wii mote to my arm as a controle panel for weapon changes. This set up vastly improved my perfomance when playing Far Cry.

Nice start, but you need to take it further, and at least make the trigger functional.

Though not many people are going to even bother when like above, there are a few 3rd party ones about.
