First of all, I haven't bought a Qoob Pro (or any other chip) yet. I'd like to have some more info before I'm going to do that. Second of all, I apologize for my English. I did my best, but it's not my native language (I'm Dutch). Third: Yes, I did search, yes, I did Google. The answers that I got were just not understandable for a simple dutch like me, or they were not satisfying :D. The questions I already got answered by Google, etc, arent in this post, lol.

The first question is about booting games. I wanna know if you need to boot original games via the Qoob bios. Differently put: Does every game load via the Qoob bios? I can already play backup games because I own a Max Drive Pro, but I don't like to insert the first DVD, boot GCoS, insert the other DVD, blablabla. I was wondering if that is still necesairy.

The second question is about the Action Replay. I have version 1.00 of the Action Replay, and I was wondering if that matters, because I believe the latest version of the AR is now 1.14, but does that matter for the Qoob AR? And, when I got the AR injected, do I still need the memory card or the AR DVD? Because I wanna give it to a friend of mine, and when I need it, I can always borrow it again.

Third question: Video DVD's (for example). Is there any way (and I mean ANY :p) to play video DVD's with a Qoob installed? Or maybe other contents like MP3's (I know there is a MP3-feature in Qoob, but the storing space is limited. 2MB, I believe)? And will you tell me how? And can the Gamecube only boot DVD-R's? Not -RW, +R or +RW?

The fourth question is about the case. I want to buy a replacement case for my GC to fit full-sized DVD's. However, I'm wondering which one I should buy, the Icedcube one or the Viper one. Side note: I don't wanna have my USB-connector at the Gameboy Player place, nor at the side of my GC. I wanna have it like in this tutorial: clicky (http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=6638). Well, not EXACTLY, but I want to have it INSIDE my cube. Is that still possible with Icedcube? I think I'm going to buy an Icedcube, because of the reviews, but if the USB-thing described above isn't possible, I think I'll buy a viper one.
Oh, and by the way, do you guys think this is a real Icedcube (I want a solid black one): clicky (http://www.easygamer.se/product_info.php?cPath=285_309&products_id=3065&osCsid=4f7ce125e836cc35e6645f7675818a13)?
This was the only place I found (Well, the was one in New Zealand, but that's like...the other side of the earth :D)

And the last question (number five ): I've downloaded a N64 emulator and a SNES9XGC (I think :p) from modthatcube (http://modthatcube.pxn-os.com/main.htm). The N64 one is a .iso (soz, a .gcm, but that's the same), but the SNES isn't. I would like to have both to be a .iso, so I can make a dualboot iso. Also I wanna know where to get ROM's for both emu's, and how to use them.

Well, that wasn't too short :D. I'm very sorry for the long post, but I really want to know these things. I already asked the Qoobchip.com (http://www.qoobchip.com/) ppl, but I realized the last change on their site was in 2005 .

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I have a PAL gamecube, and I'm not sure about my POT, DOL or any other info. Oh yea, and my warranty is over ;)

All you need to do is put the disc inside the machine.. it doesn't matter if it is original or a backup, and the region. You put the disc in, and in 13-15 seconds, you are in the game.
Also, if there is no disc inside, or if you press B, you will enter the Qoob Bios menu, where you can select 'boot original IPL'. With this, you can enter the original BIOS and deal with your memory card and calender stuff, and also still play original games. You can also just hold X when you switch on the machine to get to the original IPL.

It doesn't matter. In the Qoob Pro menu, you go to 'cheats' and then it says 'enter action replay disc'. When you put it in, the disc spins up, and then it says 'cheat engine ripped' and it saves one block to your qoob pro memory. You then just go to 'cheats' and then you can see the cheats you have flashed to your memory.
If you change your Qoob Bios to a different version though, you have to do it again, as it says 'please reinstall cheat engine'.

ReWritable discs will not read in the machine, the lens isn't designed for it.. the disc spins up once, for a tiny spin, then stops completely, with no activity at all..
I don't know about +R, but -R works for sure.
I'd also recommend sticking with Mini-DVDRs, because sometimes you have to lower your POT a lot more since the DVD-Rs weigh more than Mini-DVDS, which is what the machine was designed.. the DVD-Rs don't spin as fast, so to get them working, the POT has to be reduced more.. So I'd recommend sticking with the Mini-DVDrs (RiData Ritek G04 4x are the best)

Also, about the media player, google "MFE PLAYER" (5.87MB).. you burn it on a disc, then load it up, and you can listen to MP3s and watch DivX and stuff..

This was the only place I found (Well, the was one in New Zealand, but that's like...the other side of the earth :D)

I think IcedCube was rated best. I don't have a full-size case, never got one due to circumstances, but I'd recommend removing the USB PCB from the chip itself and putting it somewhere... otherwise, flashing stuff to the chip will be a big headache.

The N64 Emulator is supposed to be an ISO, which you open up with a program, and then replace the ROM with whatever N64 rom you want (as long as it is less than, or equal to 32MB). You can't burn more than one of these on a disc, even if it is multi-boot iso. It won't work. Only one at a time for the N64 emulator.
Also, make sure you save to a spare memory card with this emulator. Some people said it messed their whole card up, and the menu always asked them to format the card..

The SNES one you can use a 'bootable disc maker' to do. You put the emulator file as the 'boot DOL' and then fill the rest of the disc with ROMS. Make sure the disc is more than 500MB, otherwise the disc won't read so well in the GameCube, so you can put some crap files on it to fill it up.
There are more emulators if you want to do emulation on the GameCube as well...
Go to http://www.tehskeen.net to download the emulators there.

Also, check this thread and download the file, it will help a lot with your GC stuff if you don't have the software already. Besides the QoobCHTEdit (cheat editor program for the Qoob) and the MFE Player, and the emulators, it has all the stuff for all the GameCube needs you will have

I don't want that. I want to have it inside the cube like here (http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=6638). Is that still possible with Icedcube? Also, when I watch this picture (it was the best I could get from the Icedcube back): clicky (http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/3239/icedcubebackhg1.jpg) (that's my edit, the original pic is here (http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/icedcube_back.jpg)) I think the thing in the red square is what I need. Is that true? Because then it's very easy :D

Go to http://www.tehskeen.net to download the emulators there.I don't really understand this, is there a guide I can read for this? I understand you can only use one ROM at a time for the N64 one, and you can have multiple for the SNES thing. But the extra MB for the 500MB, does that really need to be junk, or can I put some more emu's on it, some dol files, the DivX player, etc, and do they all work then?

Well, thanks for the already given answers, they have really brightened things up :D

Thanks for the answers! :D

Do you mean that you burn the player on a DVD along with a video file? So you boot it, and it works? :p Or do you need to run that file first, then insert a video DVD and THEN play it?

You can burn other files on the disc as well, and if you want, you can swap the disc with another one with files and it will work... it doesn't do DVD movies though..

Yes, I'm going to do that, but Qoob wants you to have the USB-connector here (http://www.qoobchip.com/images/diagrams/gcdis/_gcdis_15.jpg) or here (http://www.qoobchip.com/images/diagrams/gcdis/_gcdis_18.jpg). I don't want that. I want to have it inside the cube like here (http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=6638). Is that still possible with Icedcube? Is that true? Because then it's very easy :D

I think with the IcedCube case, you don't need to cut the red spot, and it's already cut for you... what I meant about the pcb being off the chip is that you can either leave that usb pcb on the chip, where you flash to the thing before you put it in the cube and close it up, or you can cut it off and place it somewhere else, with the blue ribbon connecting to it.. I'd recommend cutting it off and putting it somewhere.. the best known places are under the hi-speed port and on the outside through the hi-speed port, and if you have a replacement case, or a DOL-101, you can put it / cut the hole in the back of the machine, which seems to be the favorite option...

I don't really understand this, is there a guide I can read for this? I understand you can only use one ROM at a time for the N64 one, and you can have multiple for the SNES thing. But the extra MB for the 500MB, does that really need to be junk, or can I put some more emu's on it, some dol files, the DivX player, etc, and do they all work then?

For the SNES one, you need to 'PAD' the disc.. you can fill it with any junk..
Alternatively, go to http://www.tehskeen.net and look for a thread about "All-In-One Emuloader" which is a loader that works with all the emulators (except GBA and N64).. with that, you can put many emus and many ROMs on a disc, so it won't be completely wasted...

Thanks! http://forums.maxconsole.net/images/icons/icon14.gif

I'll try the all-in-one emu thing. What I don't understand...How does the one game at a time thing with the N64 work? Do you load the emu to the Qoob, and your games on a DVD or something?

The N64 Emu is really designed for streaming, because you can't burn more than one on a disc.. That said, if you don't have a BBA, you can burn the image by using FSTFIX to make it a 1.35GB ISO, and then burn those individually...
