What games are compatible so far? I need something to play while I wait for EB0 to become compatible. I don't really feel like playing any DS games right now so that's why I got this emu :) .

I would just patch the games to nds files and load them to my card
nesds wasn't on the card
but I placed this new one on my card and it loads and shows me the files but when I open them it doesn't let me load the games and there not listed
now when i selec the rom without loading nesds first it plays fine but doesn't save
what am i doing wrong?

You need to load nes.ds first not just pick roms or it use default emulator which sux is why you can't SS
keep all your nes files "roms" in nintendo folder
that folder should be on root directory of sd card
nes.ds should be also root directory of card
load nes.ds then you should see your folder with roms inside
and off you go

i didn't clearly say that but thats what I do
my roms are in folder marked nes this new version I patched and placed in that same folder
ran it and no roms are showing so i placed the roms in another folder with in the nes folder marked roms and when i run nesds and open the folder still nothing there
when i just run the roms without opening nesds first they play but don't save
anyone wanna please save me the time and just upload a R4 version that I can download and copy to my card
I have a fodler named NES then in that folder i have the newly patched nes.ds then in that same folder, a folder named games... (with a lot of games in it of course) all runs fine.. save states now work... now i can finally start playing all the classic great games here and there and continue from where i left off.... thanks a lot for the help with DLDI...
thanks loopy! and emu_kidd! :)

You dont need to recreate your nes roms as nds files. Just copy nesds.nds to the flash card, copy your unpatched nes roms (as .nes) to your card, and run nesds.nds

You sure you're using the newest NESDS.nds, as well as Chism's tool, the DLDI for R4/M3, -AND- you're doing it on Windows, correct?
Also, is the touch-screen menu odd for anyone else? It likes to fight me on wether or not I clicked on what I clicked on, as well as positioning seems weird for, like, changing tabs and stuff. Common thing or just me?

"I wasn't invited to this party"
I just had an idea I have a freaking ez flash iv shouldn't i be able to run this with that?
I never tried to before *goes looks into it*
I patched it with the ez flas 4 patch a it loaded white screens no nes ds for that either

I thought the new auto patch feture of the R4 kernel would make it work but no
it won't read the roms on the card is there an updated rom converting tool?

There is no need for a "rom conversion tool" for this version of nesds. You just put the dldi-patched copy of nesds.nds on your flashcard, then put your unpatched, unaltered nes roms on your card (ex. megaman.nes), then, start up your ds with the r4, in the games list, select nesds.nds, then a menu will show up with a directory listing. If your games are in the same directory you will see your games, if not, browse to the correct directory until you see the list.
If this does not work, please detail EXACTLY what you are doing in your failed attempts to use this.

I take my nes rom
open make_NDS
open the rom
click save
change format from .GBA to *.* by selecting it from the scroll bar
save
it makes 2 files a .GBA and NESDS
in order for the file to play in another thread BGMT told me to rename the NESDS to (name of game)
so rename NESDS to lets say TMNT
put it in the games folder on my card
if you open the game by itself it plays perfectly fine but no save states
if you run NESDS the program opens list my files on my card an when i open
games or place the NESDS in the games folder there is nothing listed it shows 0 files
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
on a side note sort of off topic but kinda not
the new snesds with dldi support patches and list the roms and opens the roms but then the roms don't play pass the openeing screen
but thats not a big deal because the other version works as well as it always did so i can live with that older snesds version

Psywold, with the DLDI version of NES DS out, it would probably be best to use that. Just patch with the right DLDI file and put it on your card along with the *.nes files.

You don't want to do any of that. The new version of nesds with dldi support does not need you to do anything other than exactly what I stated in my last post. I'd suggest erasing all of your current nesds files (to start with a clean slate) and downloading the new copy with dldi support. Since the new firmware for the r4 does dldi autopatching, you should just be able to unzip nesds.nds and put it directly onto your flash card. Then put your untouched nes roms on the flash card, put the r4 in your ds and play. If you still don't see a list of roms, do the dldi patching manually.

That's actually exactly what I told him to do, ya know...
And he already stated that the autopatching doesn't make it work.

I dont think he's having a problem with the dldi part. The problem seems to be that he's trying to use this new nesds the same way he used the old one, injecting nes roms into nesds. He needs to stop using "make_nds" and just follow the instructions exactly as I've given them.

so a regualr nes rom for the computer that works on a .....what do I use again .....FCE Ultra nes emulator I can untouched load to my card
without converting it to nesds file format?
so just put everything on the card and go?
so my problem seems to be that I'm using the files from Make_NDS
I will try this in a bit

Glad I could help psywolf. I had the same problem when I first tried to use the new nesds. They should really add a short readme.txt telling us that the way it's used has changed.

Hi guys,
Maybe you can solve my problem too!
I have two linker cards: A 16gbit DS-Linker and a Supercard DS One SDHC version.
The emulator I use is: http://www.cs.utah.edu/~tew/nesDS/nesDS.nds , downloaded it at 26th October 2007.
On the 16 gbit DS-Linker, I copied the .NDS file, renamed it to "1999 - NesDS.ds" (so that it sorts nicely in the gamelist) and some .NES files and it ran PERFECT.
I copied the .NDS and the .NES files to the micro-SDflashcard to try them in the Supercard DS One.
This results in an error message: DLDI Driver is missing. http://dldi.drunkencoders.com
I read the stories here and learned that nesds.nds had to be patched. I downloaded dlditool-win32-gui and one of the .dldi files from http://dldi.drunkencoders.com/index.php?title=SuperCard_DS_%28microSD%29
With no success: I get this error message:
Processing 'E:\1999 - NesDS.nds'
E:\1999 - NesDS.nds does not have a DLDI section
I tried the other two .dldi files and got the same error message.
What can I do to make this work? Help appreciated!
ps: EXACTLY the same story applies to StellaDS, except for the error message it reproduces on the DS, which is "Unable to initialize libfat!"
EDIT EDIT EDIT: It works, I had to enable "Patch" in the Supercard OS...
This is SO great!!!!!! I'm going to get a 100 gb sdhc card now;-))
