WiiKey stopped working

Well My WiiKey (wire method) just stopped working and I haven't a clue why. It was fine for a few days..I turned it on (with a backup game still in the drive and the system with the orange light on) and it showed up in the channels..but when i clicked on start the screen went black and told me i had to reset the console...I did and now only originals work. I opened up the system and everything looks to be soldered fine (i tried touching the wires to make sure they weren't loose). Also, when i turn the system on with a backup disc in, that little jingle you hear after hitting the A button...it skips..not sure if that has anything to do with this but i figured id mention it since i don't remember hearing that before. I'm using Maxell DVD-R's burned at 4x or slower. And I did try the config disc but that no longer reads either.

I got a new wiikey and its working fine so i guess the chip may have had a problem with it. I'll pass on the curb eating fuckballs

Btw OP, were you using a clone? My friends clone just stopped wprking, mine stopped working awhile ago, but it was because it was loose.

Nope it wasn't a clone, I know other people were having trouble with their wiikeys not working but many times it turns out that a wire may just be a little 'off'. one of the solder points. The points are very small so its always a possibility. In my case however, it looks that something was actually wrong with the chip itself. Nice to have everything working the way it should :D
