How do you tell if a WiiKey is an original or a clone? Does the original have the logo "WiiKey" enscribed on the square chip? I just received mine today in the mail from divineo and I'm wondering if they sent me a clone as opposed to the original I ordered...

My original didn't say wiikey on the chip.
I know it is real because I got it at an authorized reseller.

The list is on the wiikey.cn resellers page.

Wiikey chips do not come with a wiikey logo on them. If they are authentic, they will come with the wiikey hologram sticker.
Not if you bought an original before they sent out the holograms...
It basically looks like the chip on the wiikey page without the logo.

Thanks for stating the obvious lol. Holograms have been out for a while already so anywhere you get from should have the hologram stickers in...
True, which is also pretty obvious. :P
I think he meant the chip itself tho. I guess the wiikey news about how to tell a clone from an original was lost in the "server failure".
I'm sure someone still has that comparison image out there somewhere...

After some googling I found this:

I'm not sure if that's the official comparison but it seems legit? Still unsure, but it's all I could find. The one I received in the mail looks pretty much like version 2. I'll have to wait until I get home from work to check carefully.
