Hello,
I am new to Wii moddin, so please take it easy on me. I will be getting a Wiinja soon for my Wii, I understand the soldering part, but still confused about the updates, I am located in Canada and my system is NTSC, but I might play other region games too. Hopefully someone can help me out.
1. Does Wiinja have a menu of its own? Mainly to check up on the current updates it has on it.
2. After I install the Wiinja, do I need need to update?
3. I am on Wiinja's site and I see "WIINJA DELUXE UPGRADE 2 ISO - Added Old Viper Gamecube Multigame Discs Compatibility" AND "WIINJA DELUXE NinjaShell Adapted Version (Runs Old Viper Gamecube Multigame Discs) PAL ISO". Do I need to upgrade these?
4. I just downloaded the files and see that 3 different ISO's, do I need to burn each one of them on a different DVD?
5. By default is the Wiinja enabled to play NTSC (US) games? So, if I want to play Europe or Japan games, I would need to update it with both eur_enabler.iso and jap_enabler.iso? Will I need to re-update for switching back to playing US games after I update it with either eur or jap enabler?
If something is not clear please do not hesitate to ask. Again, I am a total newbie, so please take it easy. Appreciate your understating.
Thanks

1. No
2. You don't have to. But it enables the 'region free' patching.
3. No. There's 2 upgrades, see above.
4. You would have to if you wanted to upgrade. Use -/+RW
5. No, it's default is that of the region of your Wii.

Thanks Craigsblackie for the reply.
So I should just use "WIINJA DELUXE UPGRADE 2 ISO - Added Old Viper Gamecube Multigame Discs Compatibility" to update my Wiinja with both europe and japan and I am all set?
Thanks

NOO, you just have to burn the "update 2" (that's the last one at the moment) USA version...
You have a ntsc-u I suppose, so just use the "update 2-usa"; this enables you to play, more over the ntsc-u games, all the ntsc-j games and some (about 60%) of pal games!!

Yes, my system is a ntsc-u, so I just need to burn and update with both wiinja_deluxe_eur_enabler.iso and wiinja_deluxe_jap_enabler.iso to get ntsc-j games and pal games working?

NO!!
just burn "wiinja_deluxe_USA_enabler.iso" and run it on your wii...
this one enables you to play jap and pal games.
Is not difficult, there's also a tutorial on wiinja site, READ it pls.

ok, glad to help you!! :p
I quote a part of wiinja deluxe manual to clarify you any other doubt:
Wiinja DELUXE is not Partial Region
Free by default, but it includes all the
resting features working….
To Enable the Partial Region Free support
just burn your ZONE DVD Upgrader .ISO File
on any DVD media,Power OnWii,go to
the Disc Channel and Insert the Upgrade
Disc ,wait until theWii console reboots …
If you insert same Disc again and theWii
is not recognizing the disc,it means your
WIINJA DELUXE is Upgraded,now you
can use any RegionWii/Gamecube
Backups…
No pin 3 to Reset produces theWii doesnt Reboot
After the upgrade process.

I understand the above answers (thanks for asking - saves me asking) BUT I am having trouble even burning the .iso !
I have tried Record Now Max v4.5 Record Now Max Deluxe and Alcohol 120% (all of these can normally burn an iso) but one terminates with errors and the others say it's NOT a valid image file :(
Is anyone else having the same prob?
any suggestions?
I don't fancy having to install Nero if at all possible.
Thanks

I think you'll have to install nero as suggested on wiinja official site.. it's the only program that worked for me in burning that kind of .iso :(
Very simple,use somekind of recording
Software , i.e. NERO ..
* OPEN Nero Burning Rom,select Burn
Image,Nero will autodetect the .iso like a
CD,so just change to DVD,and click on
Finalize DVD,Burn it !!...

I did bite the bullet and got hold of Nero 7 - It seemed to burn OK BUT (BIG BUT) It still didn't want to update!
So I spoke to the chip seller http://www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk/ and they have kindly agreed to send me the update disc free of charge :D - result!
Thanks for help all.
