hello, firts time here:)
I have a really strange issue with my qoob pro chip. I bought a used gamecube controller and when I try to use it with any backup, the analog stick is messed up (like in mario sunshine, mario always runs to the right).
I though the controller might be broken, but then I tried it with some non-backup games (including mario sunshine) and it works just fine!
any clue about this? thanks!

1) You shouldn't be pressing any direction on the analog stick, c-stick, or shoulder buttons before you switch the machine on... if so, whatever you were pressing will be considered neutral and in the middle.. meaning if you hold down L before switching on the machine, then the only way for the L button to act as though it isn't being pressed is if you press it down...
2) Try playing a backup of an original and see if it does the same thing.
3) Try mess around with the BIOS settings, like video mode and disc swap feature, and so on...
4) Try put the pad in after the game boots, and see if it does the same thing..
I've never heard of this.. sounds very strange.. and not like a bug with the chip or machine... shouldn't do that...

hello, sorry for the delay...
As you suggested I messed around with the options in the qoob configuration menu...and although I don't know what it means, the first option on the list "streamfix" seems to be the cause (I guess it has something to do with streaming audio or video right?). I turned it off and now the controller works fine with all the games (original and backup).
thanks for your help on this strange issue m8 :D

No prob.. glad it helped!
Stream fix is basically this (as far as I know...):
Back in the day, when GC Isos JUST came out... when they were being ripped with the Phantasy Star Online + BroadBand Adaptor method... the GCMs once wiped, would have a problem working once blown up again.. so a feature to try and get the ISO to 'fix' the 'big files' inside the ISO, and get them to try and run all the time.. instead of have the ISO be just as is...
Is the reason why there is a 'streamfix'.. once good chips like the Viper GC, Qoob, and Xeno came out.. there was no need for streamfix... the chips could play untampered ISOs perfectly...
And the feature is there to help you disable the feature if your ISO is one that has been streamfixed... which can be solved by WIPING IT.. then FSTFIXing it to full (and aligning 32k)...
