I would have expected more from the sequel of Forza, but it still is the best racing simulator on any console readily available..
Currently the only thing that surpasses it is GTR2 on PC. GT5 sounds really promising and first screenshots vs real life really put an emphasis on how good the next GT is going to be.. but remember, it isn't out yet neither will be for at least an year. By then we will probably have Forza 3 or (if GT tradition of delays is kept) Forza 4 to compare it.
On consoles, Forza 2 competition so far is only a demo (GT:HD).. or a PS2 game. When we see it that way we start realizing it is the lesser of two evils. We have on one side a money making overhyped game, on the other side the promises of a good game.. but nothing delivered. (I am still waiting for GT Mobile.. it's coming.. eventually..)
It's the worst of this industry in practice..

Total disappointment, was right when I sustained that Gran Tuiismo 4 for Ps2 are best. Played it is worse still!.

GT4 is the latest of the GT "king lineage", but it doesn't have any online modes.. Once you complete career mode, it's done.
Forza2 surpasses GT4 by far in gameplay modes, parts available, tunning options, damage model, AI stiffer difficulty, online contents, online gameplay and online car marketplace. It disappoints in looks, but it's still a generation away from GT4.
Regarding game physics, both use the "sucky" axis in the middle of car scheme, unlike GTR2 or Richard Burns Rally who have true 4 vector physics, one for each tyre. This is what yields GTR2 has the best simulator ever and not GT4.

actually it shipped today so most stores wont be getting it till tomorrow. :(
Forza 2 is the new king of console racers... "PERIOD"... anyone who doesn't think so will be ignored for the Sony/Gran Turismo fanboy they really are.. It will remain king until something better comes along...
anyone who thinks Forza 2 is ugly, go Here (http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=63483) scroll through the pics then come back and respond to this. Show me one game on any console (aside from Forza 1) that will allow you to do this.

The fact it allows awesome paint jobs doesn't mean in game graphics are wonderful. Framerate is 60FPS stable, but the flatness of some grass and gravel textures and the overall look just isn't on par with the expectations.. little, if nothing, has evolved from the looks in the demo.
At least the added features, modes, performance and tunning parts plus a car marketplace make this game well worth getting for any racing simulator fan.

I can kind of agree with this. I wouldn't go as far as Forza 1.5, but I agree that the visuals are not as good as a few other games out there(PGR 3 for one).
Seriously, is that the only downfall of the game? This ingame on a HD set still looks marvelous regardless of its short comings.
So why all the hostility towards it?
