While the NTSC versions of those games that are compatible according to your list are all progressive scan compatible your non-compatible list is another story.
NTSC Viewtiful Joe has progressive, the other Resident Evil games do not.
But yeah it would be great if somebody would host a list for all the games that work. I thought I read somewhere even a few non native progressive NTSC games work in the forced progressive mode, that would be even more useful if somebody could keep track of those games (if true).

Micromachines PAL works in progressive mode, full screen, no glitches.
Ikaruga PAL works fine full screen -is it just me or is this version FAAAAST? (compared to the DC version)
All using qoob pro 1.3a, on a Q.
@LowrdWPC, I have timesplitters 2, NTSC version and when I promote it to progressive scan I get mash up graphics in the borders but not on the area of gameplay. I just expand the monitor vertically so its not visible and the rest of it looks and runs fine. this is a NTSC game on an NTSC machine. Is that sismialr to the problem you are getting with the PAL resident Evil? (NTSC version doesnt work at all for me)

what the heck is progressive? other than car insurance. :|
Progressive scan is a video mode that Older crt type tellys can't display, older crt tellys display an interlaced image, EDTV and HDTV tellys will display the progressive signal which is shown at upto 100 COMPLETE frames in one second. Older crt tellys only display 50 or 60 frames/second displaying half the screen then the rest in the remainder of the second.
The result of the progressive signal is a very clear real life like appearing image with extremely low colour bleed. Whereas the older crt interlaced telly is quite the opposite.
To get this progressive display you have to purchase one off the following
Plasma/lcd/front projection/rear projection based telly system which is either EHTV or HDTV compliant or get a Luxury (17"+) sized pc monitor with the correct adapter.
The onset of progressive capable tellys reminds of the first time I played Ferari xXx on a Dreamcast in RGB display mode compared to the standard av scart connection it appeared so crisp and clear. Well progressive clean and clear kicks the ass of RGB :)
This is far from the complete story on progressive scan, there are loads of sites doing the complete history and all the techy news on this marvelous new technology which has been about from 1997 and before anyone asked it was Panasonic that launched it comercially with either a 51" or 52" inch plasma display, so if you want the best you now know what to buy.
To identify weither or not your telly can accept a progressive signal check out the link below, it explains and shows pics of what connections to look out for.

I've had a little play around with PAL Resident Evil 4 a bit, and have somewhat gotten it to work, at least up until the title screen.
Basically, it seems to crash if it tries to load the 50/60Hz selector menu.
A workaround is to load the game normally (i.e Prog. Scan off), then choose 50Hz. This prevents the 50/60Hz selector fro appearing again (unless you hold B on startup).
Now the game will load fine. It loads in 50Hz mode, but since your forcing 480p, your actually playing the game full speed anyway.
This had highlighted a few problems in the Qoob software actually, namely the fact that when you choose 60Hz on a PAL game, it seems to reset the video settings you have chosen on your Qoob, meaning you have to set them again, and restart your machine, every time. Something that badly needs fixing.
Or even better, hold a button to enable 480p mode =)

Star Wars Rogue Leader PAL has some graphic problems when you begin to control your ship, at the first level. Half of the screen is scrambled. Sniff...
RE2 PAL works perfect.

Progressive means VGA
Progressive isn't the same as VGA. VGA almost always uses Progressive Scan, that is, the image is sent from top to bottom in one pass, rather than Interlaced. Progressive Scan signals are usually sent to the TV using Component Video cables, DVI cable, or HDMI cable. In the case of the existing consoles, it's Component.
CRT screens can display Progressive images as well as HDTV images, but this is rare in Europe.
progressive signal which is shown at upto 100 COMPLETE frames in one second. Older crt tellys only display 50 or 60 frames/second displaying half the screen then the rest in the remainder of the second.
60 full frames per second is the maximum that can be sent on todays' TV connectors. Old Interlaced CRTs show 25 or 30 FULL frames each second, but as you said that can be upped to 50 or 60 through interlacing.

Anyone tried wwe DOR Pal version in progressive mode? NTSC version divides the screen up horizontally or something, like its been wrapped around 5 times so there are 5 copies of the action onscreen but squished up. Not playable, but it still loads up!

does Wind Walker PAL (on PAL cube) work with forced progressive mode?
any PAL users had success with progressive mode on CRT or TFT monitor?
what cable did you use? is there a direct cable from the old gamecube Digital Video Output to a TFT DVI-D input?
please share your experiences :)
edit:
is it possible to get progressive mode on pal cube with a NTSC Game ? or is this function disabled by nintendo (via Bios or somehow) ?

And yes it is absolutely possible to get progressive mode on pal cube with a NTSC Game.

I just bought a D-terminal cable for my european cube and Zelda TWW works in prog scan (european version).
I tried also Mario sunshine PAL, but it was strange, it worked, but it is impossible to see the buttom of the screen.

Metroid Prime 2 PAL Work fine in 480p, but not with the forced progressive scan mode. You just need to connect the yuv cable and press "B" at game's start.
