I just bought this external dvd burner on ebay (my computer's internal is broken.

I have at my house the COMP USA's DVD+R 4x discs. Would I be able to succesfully burn my iso of warioware or trauma center?

Can this dvd burner burn at 4x / 6x or is the 8x the lowest it can go (im computer stupid)with my comp usa cds.

Also can someone point for me a good solder guide for wiikey? Or they can just answer my Q's here.
-Is flux necessary?
-Will the iron fry the board? (30 ww)
- The wiikey's joints are very small, how can I apply solder?

Hi,
there's no reason you couldn't, this burner can burn up to 8x in dvd+r and 4x in dvd-r, try burning with clone cd (your backups have to be .iso files)
-you don't need flux
-I think 30W is a bit high but it's possible to not fry anything if done well and fast ...
-if you find it to small don't do it yourself, you may regret it ^^, btw you can easily apply solder by cutting small peaces of it with a cutter (i mean really small like the size of the points on the wii pcb) then place it over the point where to solder and just melt it

Yeah I just fuked up my solder because I did all 5 points then messed up on my 6th and the pad came off so I'm exchanging for a new one tomorrow because I let my sister play the wii then the drive just died and stopped reading discs.

I used the floppy disk wires because my radio shack did not carry the 30 gauge wires. I just have 1 last question, The wire after stripped was like many multi wire inside the insulation, I just twisted it and tinned it then solder'd it. Is that fine?
