I was recently having trouble making a backup of a Wii backup. I tried everything I could think of, including various image making programs (Nero, ImgBurn, Alcohol 120% & CloneCD) but non would work
So heres what you do to get a good burn everytime :)
This was all done with the following -
Nero 7 (fully updated),
Pioneer 112D (flashed to 112L with Buffalo 8.09 firmware),
PioData 8x DVD-R with Ritek G05 dye.
1) Open NERO Burning ROM,
2) Close the 'New Compilation' window and highlight 'Recorder' from the top left and select 'Copy Disc'.
3) Then in the various options in this new window select the following -
Read Speed: 4x,
Read Options: User Defined,
Reading with error correction (slow and safe),
Read retry count: 9
Ignore read errors,
Write speed 4x
4) Hit 'Copy' ;)
Your inserted Wii backup should now start to read to the temp image folder. Dont worry when it gets to 100% and hangs (usually for about 2 minutes) as this is normal. The disc will then be spat out (at about 10 mins 15 secs) and your blank can now be inserted. Now sit back and wait (for about 15 minutes)
Job done! :D
PS: remember that this problem can be avoided (most of the time) if you buy decent DVD-R media to start with, ie Verbatim, RiDisc etc
