I have a wiikey that is supposed to be a genuine wiikey from diveneo and installed it today. The installation appears to be valid but when i burn the v1.2 setup disc it says unable to read disc. I am able to play my original wii games but am unable to load the v1.2 setup disc. Does anyone have any suggestions in order to determine if the setup was successful. I'm not sure if the disc is bad or the install. I hate to mess with the wiikey again as it appears installed correctly. Would I still be able to play original games if it was installed incorrectly?

DVD writer: Pioneer DVR 111D
Media: TDK
Burn Speed: 4x
Program to Burn: Toast 8

don't burn using nero, etc. use a program called IMG Burn: http://www.imgburn.com/

If this still doesn't work, try a different brand of media, i suggest Verbatim. If it STILL doesn't work, it has got to be your install, you will need to open it back up and have a look. If you can't ever get it working on your own, I might be able to fix it for you. Just check the URL below VVV. Good Luck!

I wouldn't completely trust divineo seeing as how they stock clones and sell them boldly. I'm not by any means saying they are completely dishonest, but who's to say they wouldn't "accidentally" slip a clone in when they are low on genuine wiikey stock.

Otherwise, try what doh said, I had a similar problem when i installed my wiikey from eurasia.nu. My old gc backups worked fine but the setup disc and wii backups refused to boot. That told me right away that my burn method/media choice would have to be re-evaluated.

After I got the setup disc to boot, i needed to reduce drivespeed to 3x in order to boot wii backups.

I use Nero 7.8.5 with Pioneer DVR-110D Firmware 1.41 I haven't had any issues.
When I was doing DreamCast I had no luck with anything but Disc Juggler.
Is IMG Burn suggested cause it's good freeware or is there something more to it?

It's a free program that's easy to use and makes excellent burns that generally don't have any problems.
