Halo 3 Beta Extended

As you may well already know, the Halo 3 beta is finally underway, but due to delays (for Crackdown users especially) which have caused mass anarchy over the inter-tubes, the Bungie team have decided to extend the length of the beta trial. Bungie offers deep apologies, and hopes that the delay can quickly be forgotten, and may the good times roll.
"Given the circumstances, we've decided to extend the duration of the Halo 3 Beta from June 6th to June 10th at 11:59 PM PDT. So, you lost almost a full day of play today but to make up for it we're tacking on four more days (and a weekend at that). We apologize for the delay and hardships this issue has caused and hope that it quickly becomes a distant memory clouded by good times playing Halo 3 with your friends."

not quite on topic (but not too far off)

I was really looking forward to this and then what? I cant even turn off my controller without the download dropping out. Can I even spend the 4+ hours it will take me watching a DVD or HDDVD? or even playing another game or demo? or even Crackdown? NO :mad:

Now dont even tell me there was no way to let this download in the back ground, and before anyone tells me to go and do my home work I am 29 and full time employed (and I did my home work yesterday anyway :D

There's a way around that, but I didn't use it. All I did was take the battery out of my controller and it'll say "Reconnect Controller", leave it there for awhile until the screen goes into Screensaver, then it'll stop saying it and will still be downloading. All you have to do is turn back on your controller and move the analog stick, the download progress will pull up showing it's still downloading. It didn't even take me 2 hours to get it, I just turned back to my cable TV. lol. But there is a way to download it through the background of the dashboard, I just forget what it was.
