I know that the following question will be anoying for most of you...but could somebody tell me a scientific reason why burning GameCube miniDVDS ( or generally copying GC Games) is impossible ?

Maybe it is quite similar to the problem we got when they released the Dreamcast. Copying GD-Roms was not easy in "former-times" ;-) !

One of the biggest problems is that the cube reads the barcodes on retail discs (you can see them in the middle of the disc by where the hole is) and that cannot be bruned or replicated at this time. I think if someone can capture the information read by the cube as it is reading these barcodes and uses that information to store on a modchip and then have the chip send the info, burned minidvd discs may someday work. Until then, that is just one of the reasons so far.

Hmmh ... really smashing arguments !
I understand ... but maybe there will be a dvd-burner that is able to write such barcodes soon ! Letīs hope so !
Has anybody ever tried to produce such a chip youīve mentioned ?
Whe I was surfing through the internet some days ago I found a board-posting where someone told that he managed to install a switch into his gamecube !
The first problem is that I forgot the url and the second problem is that the specified guy did not tell the purpose of his installment !? Maybe he revealed the Gamecubeīs secret !? Frankly I expect that he has installed another way of controlling the power-supply :D !!!

Nevertheless - thanks for replying to my post.
Bear in mind guyz --- burning-protections are transitory ... !!

no company will invest money into making a burner specifically made to pirate gamecube discs. not only would it cost them a shitload and would interest VERY few people (a couple thousand pirates are not a large customer base), but nintendo would rape them with a spiked mace for it.
they wouldn't stand a chance in court.

Hey guyz !
Itīs me again ;-) !!
Iīve got a serious question right now !
Do I need a DSL-Modem or is is it enough to own the DSL-Spiltter if I want to connect the Gamecube via Broadband-adapter to the internet ?

If I didnīt missunderstand the whole issue the broadband adapter is only a network device for the Gamecube and not a modem ? Am I right ?
