Qoob 1.3 Upgrade via Network Possible?

I been trying to update 1.2 to 1.3 via network and it just wont work!

I use netcat and upload the elf file to port 4000

The qoob says "Recieving File" then it said "Running DOL" and then nothing.

Now when I try it always hangs at the first part.

Is network upgrade bios implemented yet?

Long story short, I don't have a PC and I don't wanna waste another dvd to just upgrade.

VPC doesn't recognise the qoob chip connected :\

If you don't have a PC, it looks like you are going to have to just "waste" a dvd to flash it. I put waste in qoutation marks, because this update is definantly worth "wasting a dvd on.

First off, looks like everyone overlooked that I already tried updating via network. How could I do this without a pc? I have a G5 not a pc.

I thought you could either update via network or burn to dvd if you didn't have access to windows to use the flasher.

In the end I went around my friends place and used his pc but it sucks having to do that all the time.

Thats why I was asking, can/has anyone updated their bios via network update (I tried netcat) or is this feature not yet supported?

network upgrade works here.

I just flashed 1.2, and netcatted the "upgrade_13.elf" into the cube. it showed that "really upgrade?" screen, i pressed "start" and it said "erasing.. flashing.. done" and now i have 1.3.

I can't see what you're doing wrong. maybe your netcat version is broken? does uploading homebrew stuff works?

Thats also how I did it, and it worked perfectly. I just typed:
nc.exe 192.168.1.32 4000 < upgrade_13.elf

It was written to upload stuff to GCOS, but it is the same for Qoob, just make sure that you are menu of the Qoob bios when you do it.
