there are problems with running PAL games in 480P

but the rest of the featuers work perfect. really nice job.

OK I've just done some testing

Games that Don't natively support progressive scan mode will mess up. however games like Mario Kart that support Progressive scan mode will work fine (btw i am talking about PAL games)

eg Mario Kart NTSC version supports progressive scan so when you force progressive scan with PAL version of this game it works fine no problems, but if you force Progressive on games like Resident Evil zero it will mess up.

IGR would be great for discs with muliple games on it. You could be like me and sitting 20 feet away with a wavebird and you don't have to get up if you want to select another game. Pretty neat if you ask me.

yeah you've got a point there, but i have a small tv (i do have a wavebird...) and i sit like 1.5M away from it so i dont need it :p
(i dont even have a Qoob, lol i have a viper, but was just interested about what could be the use of IGR, since i couldnt think of anything):p

Looks like they added almost everything that was asked for :D THey is an actual menu now, it's not awesome looking, but it is great improvement. Another thing, thats dumb that you have to get a hold of the AR disc to be able to use the Cheat system.

Other then the AR complaint, this is a great bios release and they listened to what the people wanted.

I have a question though, how do you replace the background? The NFO doesn't exactly explain how to get in onto the chip, or into the BIOS.

It only works on the Qoob pro.

It was happen to DMS. In the near future QoobSX may face the dead end. No upgrade anymore (or maybe once a year) coz low flash memory. SX is the chip for game play only.

You have to have an AR disc, then it will load the cheat program inot the chip, before you can add cheats to the chip. The cheat system is not built into the bios like it is with Cobra bios.

I've torrented a copy of action replay at Joh's tracker. I dont know if i'm allowed to say that if i'm not, will an admin please delete this post. It would be nice if someone would upload the bios already with the AR so people wont have to waste the time of burning it;). I would do it but i'm out of dvd's:(

Yet another reason to own a Qoob Pro. Another great bios release. If its allowed, I will post the action replay file to flash onto your qoob to get the cheats functioning.

I doubt it's allowed as its copyrighted material therefore it would be illegal to host it.

Quantumsource

Go a head and host it, if there is a problem with it the admin will just remove it won't they? Also, if you decide not to, could you please AIM Quantumsource, and file trans it to me.

Just download it from Joh's, it took me all of 3 seconds.

The time of the save is not working correctly. If I load a game that has the time of 11:44. Then the clock starts from there. So, if I save 6 min. later, the save time is 11:50. The date is fine. This is with Baten Kaitos.

Dixon Butz

The time seems to be working with Zelda Wind Waker. It might be off by 12 hours. I saved at 6:55 PM. It shows up as 06:55. It should be 18:55.

Put the AR disc in, boot the cube holding B, select cheats. Follow the instructions.
This cheat system beats the crap out of the Viper cheat.

I've done some experimenting with the force 480p mode

the games taht already support 480p natively don't like to be forced they simply will not load up when i force 480p the only way is to leave it at Auto and press Yes to progressive Scan when the game loads.

Some PAL games work perfectly when forced to 480p mode, eg Mario Kart DD, Mario PArty 6 usually the Nintendo PAL games work I've tried it with Resident Evil, Viewtiful Joe, RE Zero and i get the game to show up but the screen is all messed.

If people could try more games and post here to see which games work which games don't.

I think the qoob team has done an excellent job with this Bios release I really appreciate thier effort and makes me feel my money is worth every penny.

Thx.

I did a bit of playing around and IGR does not work for every game, I guess it needs some work.

The 480p mode I tried with Mario Kart and it does work, but the screen is pushed up and to the left a bit (I get a black border on the right side and bottom of my TV)

I also tried the US version of Wario Ware. It runs, but I get a border on the bottom of the TV. The sides are ok.

The US version of REmake will not run with 480p enabled. I get the title screen and thats all.

My problems with waverace are gone, it lets me enter a game no problem. (Before, it just brought me to the main menu and I could not enter exhibition). The Cheat Function works nicely and even works with multigame discs.

Oh Crap! Nevermind about this one. The time in Baten Kaitos is the actual time played. Not the time saved.

i been playing with qoob1.3's video force mode for couple of hrs now, so far, i learned that all my NTSC 480P capable games dont like to be "FORCED" ;) to run 480P by the 1.3 bios, they like AUTO better, there is no point in doing this anyways. all my 480i games can be FORCED to run at 480P , with the exeption of RE1(redone) it hangs at start  and RE ZERO never looked better at 480P, i realy think it looks better even than RE4, see for urselves. and thanx for fixing the clock problem, qoob team

Whats better to run games on 480P / Progrssive Scan or Video Mode (or something like this)? I dont understand all the new Modes :)

I just tried forcing RE 0(PAL) to run in Progressive mode, the menu and the cut scenes run fine but when the actual game is running the screen is abit crushed to the left side.

Re Remake runs too but again its all messed up

I notieced a lot of my games don't like to be 'forced' to run. Paper Mario for instance won't load if it is forced. Some of my other games either. But, since I am NTSC, all of my PAL games I got by mistake run ok when forced. So I guess that is when I will use it. Very cool feature non the less.

Tested 1.3 bios with games including audio tracks (naruto 3, ikaruga, crazy taxi).
All 3 freeze after a few moment like before (1.2, 1.1).

Audiofix seems buggy on PAL 001 GameCube :/

I tried disabling Audiofix -> same result : freeze

I have the exact same problem with Smugglers Run, it freezes randomly when I go to select something with 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3, but it works perfectly with 1.0 rc5.

This is a problem with almost all(if not all) games that the have streaming audio, and needs to be fixed, as I don't hlike having to load rc5 as an application, then playing the game.

Hm, some (more) people are reporting streaming audio games don't work, but other people report they are fine.

Which drive firmware (200x/xx/xx) do you have? Please let's see if this related to the drive firmware.

I have a 2002/08/31 here and everything works fine.
