QoOoB & Naruto 3

Anybody has been able to get NaruTo 3 running with bios 1.2 ?!

Freeze on mine after a few minutes :/

yeah works fine for me too..

qoob 1.2 / drive 08 .. i do recall using fstfix on it, but just to make it fullsize.. (eg. option f)

I extract the backup from my original and it isn't necessary to pass the fix, no?

It freeze when i change the modes (when change the music and it does not give time to change him of song and it is blocked) This happens with all gamecubes those that I have proven

it works with bios 1.0 rc5 but there is the audio problem (this bios doesnt have the audio fix built in)

Since bios 1.1 (with audio fix so) it doesnt work anymore :`|

I got the PROPER Starcube release. Burnt to a mini DVD-R and it worked straight off the bat, no messing with it at all.

The UBD release is stuffed, I couldn't get it to work at all!

I have a Jap cube DOL-001 using 1.2 QOOB bios.

Ok i got a PAL 001 Cube with the same release, maybe problem only with PAL cube :/

Does it also freeze when you disable *all* hacks ("DRE", "IGR", "Disc swap") in 1.3?

i tried with "Audiofix Off" => still freezing

But other game with audiotrack dont work : ikaruga, crazy taxi.

will try disabling other options in BiOS ASAP !

yes, the game continues being frozen. I prove with all my naruto 3 (extract from my original game and one download from internet). I disabled all hack. Everything follows equal :(

It is some kind of bug that was introduced into the 1.1 release, and has no been fixed yet. It affects all streaming games for me, but they all work perfectly in 1.0 rc5. I just flashed 1.0 rc5 to one of the extra banks, and I load that from the application menu when I want to play one of the game with audio streaming. I'll just do that until they fix the problem.

BTW i tried disabling *all* hacks, re enabling some, mixing, etc....
Game still freezed (different games).
Disabling DRE workaround begets some error while reading disk.

Do anyone know what is the "5x" option in DRE WorkAround ?

Are there some news about this problem?:confused: I think that this is a bug of qoob bios. This bug was introduced in bios 1.1 because in the bios 1.0rc5 the naruto works fine :o

can someone help me boot the UDB version? i get to the screen where i think they asking for memory card or something (i only see red lines and green lines), then it freezes when i choose the top choice.

I installed the Qoob into my GC just over a week ago and flashed bios 1.3 onto it straight away because it was the newest.

I didn't bother with tweaking the laser and just burned a few games.

I started having problems with some games and thought it was my laser and so today I was checking some threads and stumbled across this one.

Two burnt games I have that lockup with v1.3 are Wave Race and Bloody Roar and I do have the DRE fix enabled.

I only use Ritek G04 media burnt at 4x with a NEC-3520 DVD writer. I've completed LOZ: Wind Waker and Metroid Prime 2 with no problems.

In Wave Race for example, the GC sometimes doesn't load up a music track and it seems like the laser has lost its way or something and to remedy it I have to open the lid then close it. Bets place to check it is at the char. select screen and switch to different characters.

In Bloody Roar, the game BSODs at a menu transition ie going from main menu to Training mode = BSOD, choosing characters then just before the loading screen = BSOD but I can't understand why BR crashes since it isn't a game which needs the audio stream fix.

I then flashed GCOS v1.4 onto the chip and loaded up Wave Race and even though the audio is messed up since GCOS doesn't have the audio fix, I didn't get any BSODs and all the tracks and movies loaded up on the character select screen. It didn't load up at all with the 1.0rc5 bios.

Bloody Roar worked fine with the 1.0rd5 bios so I think the problem is most likely the bios.

Can someone verify Wave Race has loading problems with the v1.3 bios and that Bloody Roar also BSODs randomly on their GC?

i use the 1.0rc5 bios and the game freezes about 6 rounds into 2-2 survival. kinda hard to earn money to buy more characters if the game freezes. hope someone would make a cheat for this already.

erm bloody roar uses streaming audio.... and it doesnt crash for me anymore with 1.3A

Just a bugfix for games freezing like naruto 3

Tested it a little on Naruto 3 and Ikaruga
works like a charm

The qoob bios 1.3(a) for sx, which won't support AR codes nor backgrounds, but everything else which is new, will be released together with the final fixed 1.3a pro version, hopefully by the end of this week.

They didn't wanted me to promise this, though :)

How to make a bios upgrade DVD? I fix .gcb by using FSTFIX, just hit /f but it made the fixed file have a size more than 3G.

I have Qoob Pro which is no USB linker attached.

To flash the 1.3a bios you will have to use the usb, otherwise you will have to wait for them to officially release it with the upgrade.elf(which you burn on a data dvd).

Ahhhh damn...i thought my iso is corrupt but I got the same error...the game freezes at the third story mode fight at the loading screen with the same bios versions...

well if you're stuck and can't through the missions to get all the characters...somehow i came up with a qch file for this game (seriously i have no idea how i made this file from .cod, but it works nonetheless).

you will have all the items from shops including all the characters. just rename extension to .qch (site won't let me attch qch file) and flash this to one of the banks.

if someone could teach me how to convert cod to qch, i'd be grateful.

That means that there are still bugs to be ironed out in the Qoob's streamfix/audiofix.

There are still a lot of bugs with their streamfix, even with 1.3a.
