Why no Resellers in USA?

I was just wondering what is stopping a US company from distributing. I notice that there is no listing for QOOB distributers in the US. ANd I was thinking that perhpas it a legal issue, or something. Or if it was just a coincidence. If anyone has any idea, let me know.

There's not really a USA Viper GC reseller either, as divineo is based in Canada, and thats the only place I know of that is somewhat USA based. And they don't/won't sell the Qoob, as they are the ones that are paying to develope the Cobra bios, so they would not sale a competing chip.

www.foundmy.com is located in Canada, but ships to the USA and it's not any more expensive then ordering from the USA would be. I would suggest ordering from them if you need any chips.

There are no legal issues as the chip doesn't come pre-flashed with any code that can circumvent copyright protection schemes.

I believe that most USA re-sellers don't purchase these units as the Cube is about dead and there is little profit to be made.

I used Foundmy actually, but I was wondering about the laws in USA, casue I live in CAlifornia, and I belive that I have enough money to actually start a modchip bussiness, and I would like to sell. The Qoob as well as other GC, PS2, and XBOX products. But I need to make sure that there is no leagal problem with selling some of the products in the US or in California. US LAws are pretty strict.

Check out my latest post in the Viper GC forums about my new 'disclaimer' as it covers the laws pretty clearly, but to sum it up for you it's illegal to sell anything that 'circumvents copy protection' as the Qoob doesn't come with such code on it the device is perfectly legal.

More power to you Quantumsource, I have been in the "backup scene" since Dreamcast Utopia Boot-CD came out and since modded ps2/xbox/gc and a majority of all times i've had to get the modchip outside USA. I know there is plenty of ps2/xbox modchip for sale in USA now, but it would really help if someone sold it locally.

Btw, its a shame most people are skipping the GC, its got such a great library of games, I'm hoping Geist, Pennant Baseball and the new Zelda will get more people into the GC scene. Btw, if you haven't played it yet, I'd recommend Starfox Adventures its the first starfox game for GC and its developed by Rare. Its a great great game.

And the gamecube next will only ship in mid 2006 in Japan so thats another issue to keep it alive.

I'm glad to see that there are people that are being supportive of my idea. At the momment the idea, is becomeing a plan, right now I'm in the middle of getting the funds together to start my store. As well I am organizing what I will be needing to do to get off the ground. First Off, I need to make my site, not to hard, it ain't gonna be anything amazing, but I promis it will look better then foundmy ( no offence). Second I need to upgrade my PayPal account so that I more easily get funds transfered. Third find the best possoible shipping time/.rates availibe for shipping from within California. Forth and finally, I need to actually contact Qoob and perhaps some other companies that I like, and order a bunch of popular stuff from them. If any one is interested in making like 20-40 bucks that want to simply make up a basic page for me I may be willing to do that. Also I would like to ask everyone here what they would like to see me have for sale, as I only want to buy products that I am pretty sure I can sell. any products will do, GC, XBOX, PS2,.etc...

I would deffinantly buy from you if you were about to offer the same price or better then foundmy for the Qoob. As for shipping inside the USA, USPS priority mail works very well, it is usually 1-2 days anywhere in the USA(garantied 3 days), and is only $3.85 for anything 1 pound or less. Also if you do setup all the labels online, you get free delivery confirmation.

I sale a lot of stuff online, and thats how I ship everything, and I have never had any problems or complaints with shipping. They will even pick up all your packages from your house/store free of charge, and all priority mail evelopes and boxes are provided free of charge.

The Qoob SX is not flashable with USB, only dvd and network.
