This is what I am using, and so far so good. I made a back up of POP Rival Swords.

Copied Disc using Rawdump 2.0 w/ LG Drive

Burned with IMGBurn onto Memorex 16X DVD-R at 8X

I think the key to burning here is burning at 8X although I tried a backup of Zelda TP I did using the Wiikey dump method and burned it at lower speeds, but I think it was just a bad dump,I would recommend getting the LG drive.

I burn with a Pioneer DVR-111D onto 16x verbatim DVD-R discs at 4x and they work every time on my wiikey.

6x is the default speed...why would you change it?

I also am using 6X speed for the wii and was playing POP and Sonic w/o a DRE so far. I am using an NEC DVD burner that I bought for making Gamecube backups,I forget the Model number...13XX something I think...it was the most recomended for the GC backups and it seems to be working super for the Wii backups also.

BTW Memorex 16X DVD-R are a.k.a Ritek1 or to be more specific RitekF1 (manufacture ID) according to IMGBurn. These (Ritek) were also the prefered choice for GC games. I am sure there are other brands out there that are Ritek1 but I dont know what brand names they are...
Just dont be fooled by the "Ridata" brand Discs or others of the like that are out there for Cheap...they are actually "Ridata" brand are RITEK-R03-02 and I dont think I had any luck at all with them on my GC backups...

Oh yeah, one more thing to mention here...you might want to consider..um ..how should I put this....make sure you are the one doing the backup.... or you'll probably end up with 4.37 GB of sh** and most likely end up with a headache and/or pissed off or something....

Backups I have done on my own so far work 100% and takes far less time to do.....
