Hi,
Just got my Qoob SX installed and was wondering how to flash the bios using DvD, i've read somewhere that you have to have a dummy file to make the disc 1gb. I take it that is to bring the disc to the 1.4 standard ? , and then just burn as normal using nero ?.
what other utils do i need if any ?
Thanx.
Use this to create the dummy file:
http://konsolenprofis.de/downloads/files/xbox/dummyfile.zip
You can specify the size of the dummy ie '1300' in the programs GUI.
Rename the dummy file to 0.0 or 000.bin so it ends up being the first file on disc.

Yes, just burn it as a an iso 9660 + juliet. Then stick it in your gamecube, and hold down "B"(I think thats the button) and then select the update.elf

Hi guys, I'm new here!
I saw this topic, and it's exactly about a doubt I have.
I'm getting a premodded GC from gamefreax, with the Qoob SX chip.
I already downloaded the 1.2sx BIOS, and I was wondering how to do it using the DVD method.
First question is: can I update the bios from the standard one (1.0 I think, you know the "legal" bios that doesn't allow backups to be played) using the DVD-R method?
And about the dummyfile: which is the correct size to insert in dummyfile.exe (which I took from the link posted here...thanks!!) to make a proper dummy for the update?
And lastly: could you please write me a little step-to-step guide on how to update the bios with the DVD method? Or if there's already one tell me where:p It's important because I can't find any instructions about using the chip the first time!
Sorry if my questions may sound stupid, but as I said I don't have my modded cube yet. I'm completely new to the cube scene (but not new on the gba and ps2 one, LOL:D )!
Thanks for the help!
And since it's my1st post here a big and friendly HELLO to every1!
