just got my wii now its time to mod it like every other console :)

i finally got my wii (been on a list since november/december) now i must appologize in advance for sounding like a noob but i have not been keeping up with the wii chip development at all and honostly dont know where to start looking.

okay first what version of wii do i have? if you guys dont say version for wii's then what is it?

serial number - LU31031537[5] (if more info is needed just let me know)

im thinking of getting the wiikey, it is a decent enough chip that i wont regret buying? usually i like to buy the best of the best but i realize this being one of the first chips its still going to have many problems ;)

can you list some of the problem games or errors with this chip, or recommend a different one?

i am able to build the "free" chips but i dont know if those are even worth it.

will wiiconnect be affected at all?

does the big N have any protections to destroy the chips or anything, will online games beable to work online? (i dont think any online games are out but its worth asking)


please help guide me in the ways of the wii :)

wiikey is a solid choice. I am very happy with mine and the install was fine on the first try.

Installed a few Wiinja Deluxes so far and havent had ANY problems with them.. They update fine and are easy to install..
