Emulators and screwed memory card

I've just made an emulation disc and saved my progress from Zelda (NES) on my memory card. Now my card isnt recognised by my wii or when it's in gamecube mode.

Have i lost all my saves? :(
Or can i somehow erase the emulator saved data to get it recognised again?

How do i do that?! Will it allow me to get my saved data off? I had about 10 games progress stored on it...

Somehow got it working again, not entirely sure how. Went into the memory card management screen, where i had the error, took the card out and put it back in, and then it was recognised...

Strange!
