Ok i have an NTSC wii with a WiiD modchip.

Ok i have paper mario. iso correct size everything good.

WHen i pop it into the wii it asks me to update.

Well i was updating and the power went off in my house (lightning)

WHen i turned wii back on tried the update again I noticed when i enter super paper mario in again absolutly nothing happens. It does not say disc cannot be read. The disc spins and nothing happens. ALso when the disc is in it wont let me go into the options menu.

I take the disc out and insert a working backup and nothing happens. Disc spins
thats it no error message nothing.

So then i take an original pop it in there and the exact same thing happens in the previous 2 cases.

I remove all discs and turn off wii for 10 seconds Put cod3 in and it works.

Now everythime i try to put mario in there all the same crap happens. What the hell is going on. My mario game works on another wii.

This happened to me once. Try to burn another backup with lowest speed as you can.

If you haven't already, change your wii drive speed to 3x with the setup disc.

As for burning speed, it depends on the media... for me it helped to burn my backups at max speed (16x)

you'll have to wait for the next firmware update from nintendo to fix your issues.

and i must say youre very lucky it didnt brick your wii...

Here is the deal

WHen i put in super paper mario the dvd drive spins and then absolutly nothing happens. It does not say "cannot read disc or anything" Then when i try to go to the options menu with the disc in i just get a black screen. SO then i try to put the disc in again. Does the exact same issue, but this time, i take it out. THen I insert a backup in and it does not read. THen i insert an original it does not read.

SO i restart the wii and everything except mario is read.

What is the deal?

Ok i got this working. For some reason the wii had a code stored in its ram or whatever not to read the particualr disc since update was not complete. Now the update was actually complete but the game did not reconginze it becasuse something to do with wii connect 24. So I just fixed wii connect 24 and then reburned the game and the problem is now solved
