Using RAWDUMP, I've created a Wii backup ISO, which is 4,699,979,776 bytes in size (the correct size for a Wii game). I've tried burning it on several types of media, with no successful loading on my Wii console. Here are three DVD types I've tried:
Dynex DVD+R - at x1, x2, & x2.4
Sony DVD-RW - at x1
Philips DVD+RW - at x1, x2, & x2.4
My console is a DMS Chipset, with the Cyclowiz modchip installed and successfully upgraded to the v3.0B firmware (most recent to-date).
Gamecube backups will play fine, but Wii backups will only give DREs (Disc Read Errors).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Okay, I've also now tried the following:
Verbatim DVD-R - at x1, x2, & x2.4
Sony DVD-R - at x1, x4
I still getting DREs on my Wii backups. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!

It does like -R better than +R. As far as -+RW support, I have no idea.
I think you are burning too slow. I burn everything at full speed and have no problems whatsoever. Never a DRE, I have played games all the way through without issue. I definitely don't subscribe to the "slower is better" mantra. In fact, burning slower can cause more problems than not in current burners.
That out of the way, what kind of burner are you using? Also, are you 100% positive that your install is 100% perfect? Just because you were able to update doesn't mean that everything is perfect....

Dang it... I tried burning at x8 yesterday, like you suggested, and I had no luck.

I'm using an LG burner. Off the top of my head, I can't think of the model number. When I get back home, I'll post it.

All the solder points are solid, and there are no solder "bridges" between points.
Thanks, for the suggestions.

UPDATE: I just heard back from the Team Cyclops Support. Their response is below.
Dear Customer,
With the 6X speed added in v3 some brand of DVD WRITER give poor quality
burned media and may afect the compatibility.
We got many good comment about NEC and PIONEER burner.
Please try using different combination of MEDIA and/or BURNER !
Best Regards,
Team Cyclops - Tech Support
It looks like I'll be buying a different burner tonight. I'll try to keep you guys updated.
Thanks again, for all your help!!

Well, I tried the burners that Team Cyclops Support recommended, and I'm still getting black screen DREs. I have now tried all the following burners with no success:
Pioneer DVR-1810
LG GSA-4166B
NEC ND-3520A
This is REALLY starting to tick me off. Why am I the only one with this problem? Urrrrr.
